Using a NOCO jump starter

it should fit on the battery retaining bolt on the front of the battery.

I added a specific negative post to mine to make life easier

So with the Noco it doesn’t have to go to the engine? I was told never to jumpstart with the negative on battery

Did they say why ?
I have jump started several vehicles with my Noco attached to the battery terminals.

To be fair, either approach should work.

It is connected to the engine hoist mount on the backside of the engine.

I was told you could damage the smart alternator on the van and also the the module that on the negative lead near the terminal
