Using actioncam as a dashcam

I have been thinking of getting a dashcam but also like the idea of a an actioncam and have found a Sony HDR-AS200V Action Cam
at a great price from a store in the Netherlands. Sony HDR-AS200V Action Cam
From videos I have looked at on YouTube it seems to work well as it has a built in GPS etc.
It is more expensive than most dashcams but will give me flexibility.
If anyone on the forum uses an actioncam in this way I would welcome any words of advice they might have.

Cheers Mark

I find its almost perfect the only downside being I have to turn it on each time (by pushing the in car charger in the socket) however on occasion I have left it running all weekend off the dash top 12v socket and not drained battery. As soon as it gets power it turns on and auto records.

It has a car mode and records on 10 minute loops. Its 32 gb so holds a decent amount of footage. Its 1080 footage so easy to make out reg's and see all of the road.

Just need to remember to save the file after crash as it will eventually be wiped however as it has wifi you can do that easily through an app.

The plus side is that it has loads of other uses ir scuba diving etc.

It cost circa £50 and comes with lods of connectors

Hope that helps
