Van purchase - no LED headlamps - deal breaker?

so found a van that has fairly good spec - apart from no led headlights! apart from not driving at light - is it a no go?

why are they never perfect spec and why do people choose not to have the led headlights when they choose their

By the time you get a definitive answer from the forum the van will be sold.
If you want it buy it.
Defininatve answer from me.....id NEVER have another H4 set up again.

thanks for replies chaps - I think I'll view the van and see if I can walk away or have to have it!?

I have H4’s and do 50% of my driving at night. I have Oscar Nightbreakers in them and they are fine, not perfect, but fine.
Completely agree with this. Led are a nice option but not as bad as some make them out to be.

What would they need to do on detection? I'm mean to make them brilliant? I have no idea what happens if they come across a person....id say that's driverless technology stuff.
LEDs are extremely strong. I wouldn’t want to blind a pedestrian

jeez
Just picked up my new van on Thursday and did not spec LEDs. Hasn’t been an issue so far but I understand that most on here prefer them.

I think once you've had xenons or LEDs, halogens are so poor by comparison. I dare say that if the internet was around in the 70's, the same discussions would be had on every forum about the change from sealed beam tungsten lights.

I’ve got H4 with normal bulbs and they are ok at night. Not best ever, but choose your speed accordingly.
They are no worse than many other cars out there.
Ever driven a BMW X5 with standard lights? You turn them off and back on because you can’t believe they are actually on-and there’s no difference when they are off. My H4 are way better than the X5 headlights.
If you like the van then buy it. Headlights aren’t a deal breaker.

And to be honest it's quite easy to swap them to THQ or other "better lights" if you don't get on with them........Built not Bought! :)Although you might have to put the fuse in the right holder  .But that's another story!

If its the van you want then go for it, I don't think it's the fact that the halogen lights are that bad and certainly not dangerous as some will have you belive, they're just not the blinding photonic orgasm that the LEDs provide.

I did exactly as @paulfr suggests, and spent about £500, as many others have done.
Knowing that the BMW X5 has even worse headlights doesn't really help, and driving very slowly at night because I couldn't see very well became a bit tiresome!
There are a number of threads on this forum, some very long, in which a lot of people express the opinion that the H4's are inadequate. They are certainly worse than on many older / cheaper vehicles I have driven.
Of course if my T6 was only used as a camper, or I rarely drove it at night, I wouldn't have bothered to upgrade my lights, we all have different priorities and use our vans differently.

Well i ordered a new van and didnt spec LED from factory (1300 quid here in NZ) H4 seem fine to me. BUT my plan was to get some headlights from Transporter HQ when the T6.1 are available (or just some LED bulbs.

I bought my van a few months ago and they came with led headlights. I was fully naive at the time.

Drove the van home that night and was STUNNED!

In your situation, it’s a tough call. I love these lights but I’m not sure if it’s a deal breaker, given you have the H7s.
