What does everybody recommend to edit videos for instagram and you tube.
Preferably no or very little cost, but easy to use and edit them

Thanks

I use iMovie. Nothing too spectacular, but it has an easy workflow, and is stable on Mac or iPhone.

I’ve used the GoPro software - a bit less stable, and the edits tend to look similar.

Daughter suggested CapCut, which I haven’t used. Younger daughter makes some very tight edits on TikTok, but you have to be 15 to make it work.

I have Adobe Premiere for serious video work but that's... quite a long way from free.

I also do quite a bit of work using kdenlive - it's free, open source and cross platform (at least for computer OSes)

It's a bit idiosyncratic but there is always someone who's done a tutorial on YouTube when you get stuck as it's quite popular. It also runs pretty well without your computer being a fire breathing power house.

Lumafusion. Paid for app but worth every penny. Can edit multiple 4k streams on my iPad without any issues.

I invested in Lumafusion on iPad/iPhone as well a couple of years ago when iMovie didn’t have enough tracks for a slightly bigger edit.

I think it’s great & easy to use.

Overall for really basic stuff I use iMovie, slightly bigger or more flexible editing I use Lumafusion or full on I use Davinci Resolve (even this is free for personal use) & is available for PC & Mac

Start by getting comfy with simple editing software like iMovie or Adobe Premiere Pro – both are good starting points. As you progress, consider joining a course to dig deeper; the Prague Film Institute has some excellent resources to help build solid skills. https://www.praguefilminstitute.cz focuses on practical learning, so you’ll get hands-on experience with real projects. If you want a long-term career in video, learning the fundamentals like color grading, sound editing, and effects can make a difference.
Can you show us some videos of your van?
