Vw t6 - T6 starts yet sounds like the battery is almost flat

Hi Does anyone have the same issue as me on my van, T6 starts yet sounds like the battery is almost flat, but it’s a new battery

Are you confident that the battery is fully charged i.e. been on a decent drive very recently, or has been charged for a decent period with a smart charger ?
Even new batteries will drop their voltage if they aren't charged.

As above, also.

Possible issue with startermotor or link cable from starter to battery.

Got a few pics of the battery and terminals?

What battery did you have before? . . . Did a shop change it for you?

Hi and thanks for the replies, the battery terminals are very clean and tight I’m getting 13v dc from the battery and I use the van all day every day going from job to job. I hope this helps

Roughly how many miles do you do in a day ?

As Dell suggests, it’s worth checking the cables and connections before you start to investigate if the starter motor is at fault.

Probably about 10 miles a day on average, I’ve just finished checking the connections and I’m mow going to charge the battery and I’ll see what happens.
Thanks

there was a recent post on T6F with similar issue - - - they had water ingress in the starter + needed new main starter cable. (after having new battery fitted and tested etc)

for now:

follow @Pete C advice and fully charge the battery for 24hrs on a smart charger . . . then retest.

when charging the T6 battery (in vehicle) , don't use the battery NEG post - use another ground point !! (dont bridge out the NEG post battery sensor)

Check the earth strap between the chassis and engine (at the Cambelt end) I have just helped a member with a similar non-starter and the terminal had corroded.
