My van is a 2018 Highline which had a new battery installed under the warranty just before I purchased it. The dealer selling me the van said they had no invoices for any other work and that VW would hold the info on any work done under the warranty. I called Vw to inform them that I had bought the van and could they update their system and tell me what work has been done on the van. They told me to take the V5 into my local dealer who would change their owner records for the warranty but they could not access any records to confirm what work had been done- they said the local dealer might be able to. Be nice to know what’s been done in the past, adblue updates etc - any ideas? I can’t see why a van centre would have the info on work under taken by another Vw dealer but Vw warranty team don’t - grateful for thoughts

When I bought a used van from the local dealership i asked for the same information and they gave me an internal invoice (which customer gets as well when warranty work Is done) for parts that had been changed, under warranty, at another branch of the same dealership. Weirdly though, they also changed the battery before purchase and it was a blinking pain to get the paper work for that. I think the sales manager just couldn’t be bothered.

I still haven't had chance to go to my nearest van center, I would assume that there has to be a central record of work carried out otherwise how would they know what van has had what done , especially on safety related work
