Webasto thermoconnect installation problems

Hi, I've got the thermoconnect tcon2 that I've tried to install on my air top 200 heater. If I connect the heater directly to the thermoconnect it works fine, if my multi controller is connected to the heater that also works fine, but if I connect the multi controller and the tcon2 to the heater at the same time with the Y shaped wiring harness I get a T46 error message and the heater turns off.
Do you have any idea what could be going wrong? I thought it would be a simple installation but it's driving me crazy not being able to get it to work

T46 error is - Excess current/short circuit at switch output Current exceeds 500mA. Check installation. Ensure that the consumer at the switch output is not drawing more than 500mA

Thanks very much for your help

If he could help that would be brilliant. I've wasted hours of my life trying to figure out why it won't work. The only thing I can think of at the moment is a broken Y shaped wire harness but I bought it new so it shouldn't be broken so apart from paying another £35 for another one to try I don't know how I can diagnose the problem!

Is your splitter wired up correctly?
Post pics of all the connectors so that I can see the wiring orientation.
Photo 1 is of thermoconnect to Y harness
Photo 2 is Y harness to heater
Photo 3 is Y harness to multi controller
Photo 4 is of the instructions I followed

I can't see how I have gone wrong, as long as the single wire of the Y connector, before the split, is plugged into the thermoconnect unit then the other 2 cables can only fit into the heater and multi controller one way as the connectors are different

Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you so much!! That part of the photo wasn't visible on the screen shot I was working from! I'll try it tomorrow and see if it works and let you know how I get on!

Thanks so much for your help!

The problem is with the black wire - this should not be needed if you are operating with a Multicontrol and ThermoConnect. These operate via W-Bus whereas the black is an analogue switch.
Can you confirm that you do not have a rheostat connected in addition to the Multicontrol and ThermoConnect?

Whilst I was doing half a dozen things at once the solution has been posted! To remove a pin from a male plug use a fine needle to depress the latching tang - see the gold terminal. For the female receptacle depress the little arrow.IMG_3115.JPG

Yes, it's working perfectly. Thank you very much! I disabled outlet 1 in the parallel control in the settings as Absolut5 pointed out and it started working.

Thank you so much everyone for your help!
