Welcome new members

Think they are 18inch DRC wheels. As I mentioned am bit of a novice to all this, have always wanted a VW since I lived on the north coast of Cornwall for 5 years, last summer the dream became a reality when I saw this van. Am looking to get it remapped in the near future to give her a bit more power and improve the mpg. image.jpg

Newbie..:waving: after years of procrastinating I finally plucked up the courage to spend a small fortune on a van 67 Trendline SWB:grin bounce:.. some modifications already done 20" wolfrace alloys, side bars, front spoiler, windows and insulated/carpeted in the rear. Plan to start doing the camper conversion beginning with a Reimo pop top?? anyone have any thoughts on the type of pop top or is it all down to personal preference?

You'll need to let us know how the handover goes - In my mind, I'm picturing a bloke standing half-way across the car park shouting at you, trying to explain what all the buttons do and how to pair your bluetooth. :D

I've ordered my van through VW Vans
Liverpool so I am genuinely interested on how it's done these days.

Pickup day arrived, just collected.
The process differed only in that I looked around it, no explanation of how it works as I already own a VW Tiguan so familiar with the layout. Paperwork as normal then off I went.

Great to finally have a van after years of thinking about it. Loads of kit arriving daily and starting later ripping out the ply lining and start the sound deadening and insulation.

I’ll post some pics when I get 5 minutes

So much a newbie that I haven't even picked up the van yet. It's done 21000, 3 years old and warranty about to expire.
So...would you advise extending warranty or not worth it?
Also, local good garage for servicing using VW parts/ use VW garage
Also, it's got external LPG. Has anyone had experience of this and any thoughts?
Thank you.

Hi everyone, I purchased my first ever VW Camper last night and i cannot wait to get it home from the dealership and start using it.
Look forward to getting some inspiration from you lot. Me, my girlfriend and little girl are looking at all the accessories available, think i need to rob a bank

Hello and a quick introduction. I'm back where I love being. In a van. I was an active T4 forum member back in 2001 with my 1st T4 a red 1.9td swb called Trev. Next came a white 2.5 swb T4 called Fidget that I converted myself into a camper. Sold that way back in 2012 when along came the child and some form of sense was required (not by me obviously) and the van had to go and I was in car land until 2yrs ago when we bought a swb T5 1.9 camper called Thelma. We had a large inflatable awning but apparently we ALL had to sleep in the van. And by all I mean me, missus, our daughter and our 2 dogs, Lila the scatty staffie and Lexi the lazy Rottie. It didn't work so this year I sold the van, px'd the car (missus is still not convinced.......... Or happy) and bought a T6! Gonna buy a caravan again as we had one before and loved it. The van is a 140 KOMBI which is perfect and I've just sound deadend it and insulated it. Just waiting for carpet to arrive.
So far, I love it and I'm back in a van.
The picture is as it was whan I got it. The T5 is my old one I sold

Welcome back - although as a relative novice and one who hasn't even seen his van yet, I'm not sure I'm in a position to be acting all statesmanlike! Bought my new LWB T6 204 DSG back in March and it's been sat in a compound in Surrey ever since - only seen photos of the damn thing! However, TODAY - probably as I type this - it's going over to Milton Keynes to be torn apart and rebuilt by Three Bridge Campers. Exciting... not to mention expensive o_O. Four weeks and I should have it - and a lot less moola sat in the bank account! Yours looks very smart in white, and having one behind the other shows the evolution of the 5 to the 6 nicely. I'm not planning on going down the caravan route - just getting rid of one of ours to university, although that could be a very different experience given social isolation - but I have just upped the spec (again!) to include the demountable tow bar and Westfalia loom instead of the California bike rack. I've used a tow bar mounted bike rack on my Merc for years (Atera Strada - another thread on here), and am going to stick with that. Got a Thule awning being fitted, but need to look into some drive-away gubbins...Meanwhile, dog, missus and young lad will be making full use of the van... when it arrives and campsites open!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

To answer your first question it depends on cost for the extension, if it seems good value then could be worth it, if not then you might be better off just saving a few quid each month into a van maintenance fund.

If you extend the warranty do you have to use VW to keep the warranty valid? If not and if you have a local garage that you trust then I would recommend using them. More often than not they are significantly cheaper.

Hello,

I'm Sam - long time lurker and first time poster. This forum has been invaluable over the last few years whilst finding people to convert my van, tutorials etc, but due to my relative lack of knowledge to bestow on others, and the excellent search function, I've never needed to post.

For the last ~2 years I've been the proud owner of a 2016 204 DSG Highline tintop in the best colour VW do - Chrome Yellow.

I'm piping up now as I have a garage full of bits that might be useful to people and I'm having a lockdown general clearout, some bits free to a good home as I don't like throwing things away.

Good evening, just joined and it’s my first post so probably writing in the wrong place

I currently have a 2012 T32 LWB for work which I purchased new and it’s been a fantastic van, finally decided to get another new one.
Literally about to order a T32 LWB DSG in pure grey, the 2 things I can’t decide on are:
- tail gate or barn doors
and
- 150 or 199.
My current van has barn doors and it’s a 140 manual.
vw said the 199 is more juicy than the 150 which makes sense but I do carry a lot of weight (heating engineer so my van is completely full the whole time) saying that my 140 copes very well, are there any obvious improvements over having the 199 or for that matter any downsides?

Regarding the rear doors, I much prefer the look of the tailgate and I know they are more desirable but worry that needing the extra space behind to open and also not being able to pile stuff up behind one closed door may get annoying for me.
Can anyone share their experience with this being a tradesman.
many thanks.
