Welcome new members

Good morning everyone, I’m new to this, and I was glancing through many chats yesterday and it was such a good read. I learnt so much. We’ve just purchased a T6 last week and it’s our first outing (2 nights) today, so wish us luck!

Hello all
First post, Wow, there is a lot of information on this site which is really great,
I have a 2018 T6 black pop top conversion which I've had for 3.5 years. Bought it from Cambridge campervans who were really good.
We've done a few upgrades since the initial purchase , best one by a mile was fitting the H&R front and rear Anti roll bars, they made a massive difference to drive.
The question I want to ask is, I have changed the alloys down from 20" original sport line to 18" alloys
and I'm looking to sell them and the tyres on. would you advise ebay as the best option or are there specific VW or T6 websites that i should use?
Thanks
Paul

Thank you for your responses .. We had a great time, slept downstairs with the pop up, in the up position. I wasn’t sure how to gauge how much water I should put in, so I just put in enough for a test. Unknown to me, there is an electronic panel on the inside which indicates how much water you have..! It’s a Denby kit out, and to be honest the rock and roll pull out bed was perfect. We had some mattresses, which were recommended and were ideal. The comment about the heater made me chuckle, yes we had an electric blower, and it was ideal. I was surprised on how it retained the heat. Overall experience was brilliant and we are looking forward to our next adventure. I emptied the tank underneath the vehicle, small blue tap, which was ok. I did notice there was a long tank which had a connecting pipe to another smaller tank, I assume there’s two water tanks? Is this normal. It’s ok if you dont have an answer, I’ll ask another happy camper when we get back onto a campsite. Steve

The campervan bug gets under your skin - pleased you enjoyed your first outing.

Hello all,

I bought a Caravelle last week - a 2016 Exec with the 200bhp engine and DSG box. Even though it came from a dealer, it's a bit scruffy, so I will be attending to a few jobs to get it where I want it. The first bodge I came across was the driver's armrest. It broke as I drove the car home. Closer investigation revealed that someone thought a screw was a suitable replacement for the block of metal that sheared off the bushing:

I had to grind the screw tip down with a die grinder to get to the triple-square bolt. A new bush is on its way.

I'm also missing a rear washer jet and cap:

It has been reversed into a post at some point, and a poor job made of fixing the rear bumper:

Handily, a fellow T6 member is giving away a rear bumper which I'll have sprayed and will then swap over.

The van also has Van Slam coilovers fitted; the ride is quite choppy so I will be replacing them with standard suspension, again (hopefully) donated by a kind forum member.

Looks great from the ten-yard view...

Hello all, here is my recently purchased T6, I absolutely love it so far and I can't wait to start getting into my little project!

I'm very much in to all sorts of biking/triathlon so this will kind of be more of a day van than a full on camper.

Already it has usb ports fitted all round, insulated rear with speakers on the walls, LED's in the roof so it's a lovely starting point.

I've just 3D printed some fork mounts for the bike and going to fit them this weekend as my first little project then its onto fitting a 240 hook up, along with making a bed frame and some storage solutions!

Have a great day!

I love it, I hired a t4 camper back in the summer and I just fell in love with the transporters! I was sold on buying a BMW M2, hired that transporter and just thought, well I really enjoy the van, always love having projects on in my spare time so let's have a go!

(Does help I'm a multi-skilled engineer by trade too so I'm pretty hands on and have an eye for things)

Evening all

I currently have a T5.1 140 kombi that I bought new in 2014, I love the thing! I took it to New Wave Custom Conversions for some upgrades when I had it and have not really touched it since.
although last year I did get the suspension refreshed with B14 Komfort coilovers and a stiffer ARB.
It’s not a camper as I need the space to move bikes around.

anyway about 18 months ago I ordered a t6.1 in my dream spec and I have just heard it’s on its way.
I have gone for another LWB, twin slider, Kombi, but now 4 motion 204bhp.
LED lights and posh Nav. I hope the unit is better than the kenwood in my t5!
Very excited for the new van. I hope it lives up to expectations

I will mostly likely stick on some BBS XR 18 inch wheels in gloss black.
ABT front bib, some speaker/amp upgrades.

If any of you have photos of other Bayleaf van would great!

Cheers
Stu

Hi Stu - welcome to the forum.

I'm guessing there'll be a few Bayleaf Green pics here... ;)
