Joined a few weeks ago and the expertise of the members and information has been a great help when buying my first VW van. She is a Lwb T32 Highline DSG in Indium Grey, she will be starting the slow process due to funds on a conversion in to a camper van most work being done by myself.

Hello and welcome! Please keep us all updated on the progress of your conversion together with lots of photos!!

Many thanks there will be photos so I remember how it all goes back together, I'll post a photo in team grey of how it is now.

New to the forum - have got a Candy White T6 which I am just getting new windows put in and a SCA 194 Roof - pictures to follow

Hi All, just saying hello. I do not have a wagon at the moment- I had a T5 130 LWB about 10 years ago that I converted to a camper with Reimo roof and sliding seat system. The time is now right to return to a camper and I think a T6 SWB will fit the bill, but I'm not sure which way to do it, either do it myself and make sure the job's done right or find one ready converted. My one I had converted by a chap who has now gone out of business and it looked nice enough but the standard of work wasn't good and the "insulation" consisted of square bits of sticky back foam, one per panel!

What I am finding now is that there is a massive amount of pop tops available with SCA/Reimo accepted as being very good and very expensive and then the remainder with equal reports of them being good and terrible! The vans themselves seem to ask for silly money with low ish mileages or cheap ish but with moon miles on them. For a nearly new van it looks like I might be better off buying new from one of the discount sellers? What's the opinions on that?

Next one is if I do get a new van do I get a T6 or wait for the T6.1? In the meantime, I'll just hand around here and and pick up some tips. Any advice gratefully received.

I had the same thoughts about the t6 it t6.1
When I spoke to the dealer they said deliveries of 6.1 wouldnt be till end of year. They have extended the load area on the lwb 6.1 to 3.3m now which will be good for you camper conversion people.

Hello all,

I’m from Zürich, Switzerland. Will pick up a multivan next week.. believe it’s the caravelle in UK?

Will make some posts about accessories etc and probably some chip tuning etc.

Cheers all.

Hi, Alex here, just joined to get info on Caravelles. Thanks for running a forum to make it easy!
It looks like we're looking for a SWB DSG 7 seat.
Any advice appreciated I'll open a thread elsewhere.
Cheers.
Alex
