What does this do ? It’s fallen off. Part number 7H0837868.

It sits around the locking mechanism on both driver and passenger doors. Doesn’t seem to affect anything.

It might be a guard to stop thieves putting slim jim down the glass, maybe it was damaged during an attempt to break in?

They’re held in with a rivet which you drill out to get to the outer door skin.

Yeah it’s a guard, bin it. I have had my door inner skins off more than a “you know whats drawers”and they were never replaced. Makes no odds to your door locks.

It’s used in the factory door assembly process - it serves no purpose other than to help locate the door lock mechanism into place.
