What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Today I fitted a CSB-2 battery master which charges the cab battery once my leisure batteries reach 13.6 volts with the Victron 30 amp charger or with solar through the Victron 75/15 solar charger, .1 to 4 amps go to the cab battery and a green
light comes on showing the cab batteries are being charged. £44.98 including postage from CAK Tanks.
So no more flat vehicle batteries through parasitic discharge.
John.

This is exactly what I am looking for! I have been kicking myself for not buying the 3 port Victron BSC. When camping, my electric side door steadily pulls down the starter battery charge and I was looking for something that will top the starter battery back up without having to swap my single port BSC out.

It’s a good piece of kit and easy to fit, if you hear that they’ve had problems catching fire this was parts made Jan to April 2022 and now sorted, I’ve fitted these a few times in previous motorhomes.

John.

How easy is it? Are you lining the card like some I've seen with a suede line material?
Did you have to break anything to disassemble? Are the parts glued/bonded or screwed?

Break down of the door card is really simple. It's plastic welded on the back of the door card. I used a countersink tool to deconstruct the plastic welds. It's more patience than anything else.
It is being lined but not with suede I'm half tempted to keep it close to my chest incase what I am trying looks crap
(Entirely possible as I'm not a vehicle upholsterer)

fair play for having a go! you can pick up standard door cards on ebay fairly cheaply if you make a hash of it but im sure it will turn out ace!

Thankfully these door cards were free from a local club member. Also got a spare set of a and b pillars while I was at it.
I may do a thread shortly about what I am doing. I have a bad habit of not taking photos and just doing the work though.

Fitted new barn door high level brake lights, as the existing red lenses were cracked through age. You can only buy complete units at £35 each side.

I had a look at the old units once they were off and realised that I was throwing away completely functional and re-usable internals, and all I actually needed was the red lenses (which you can't buy on their own).

See pic below - the transparent section holding the LEDs clips into the black mount, and the red lens clips over that - no glue, just clips.

I have kept the old internals just in case, but VW should do better.

Busy afternoon, bumper off yet again, swapped out one of the added DRL’s as it had water ingress, great customer service from Travelinelite, no quibbles replacement sent.

Also fitted my recently bought VW Carbon splitter from @Jon , big thanks to @Bundy88 and @Jwardy23 who got it to me via the Forum Collection service.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

@JOG number plate straightened for you mate ;)
