What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

@Fat kenny thanks sorry for all questions just love talking about them, great cars mine is a 85 so 915 box which I find ok had an 88 g50 25 years ago but tbh can’t remember what the difference was now as time passing had a couple of 993’s which were great but something about IB

Finally got round to cleaning my poptop roof. Being black it was looking very sad. Flat and dull with years of grime. Had tried everything under the sun previously to no avail. Spotted Meguiar's Marine RV 49 Boat Oxidation Remover over winter which I have used today for the first time. Certainly cuts through the layer of dirt built up over years and brings finish back nice and shiny. Finished off with a polish coating and a layer of wax. See how long it lasts now. If not successful will be vinyl wrap next time.

I am completely knacked now. That was a job and half!!
might give that a go. Like yourself tried everything and it just got worse

in the theory of subwoofer build what i have done should make little difference but I think its made the bass a bit more prominant.

Disassembled a D84AT6 because the wiring looked feeble. Added dodomat to the enclosure, some acoustic deadening on top of that, beefier wiring and fitted some spare terminal posts that had been hanging around. Glued it back together then played around with parallel and series amp feed as the KTA-200m is supposed to handle both. Settled for a series 4ohm load in the end.

Replaced the diesel heater. The original, 2 years old, had a permanent 08 fault. It happened last Oct shortly after a visit to Nottingham when I had to ford quite a few flooded roads. After trying a few things to resolve the issue I just bought a replacement. Simple fix, replace the unit by swapping it out. We have heat again.

Not a bad deal then, if Mrs @Matt-T68 is paying for the SB 230Ah Fogstar

I'll try that on Mrs moomin-j!!
I'll report back later :whistle:
@Matt-T68

If buying stuff for the campervan was a football match, the score would be:

230Ah Fogstar 0 : Handheldwhisk 1

Looks like the high end lithium purchase will end up being on the santa list for Christmas 2024 :thumbsup:

So finally got the Fogstar and inverter fitted. All working and BIG thanks to @Dellmassive for the support. Wouldn't have been able to finish it without the assist. Now where's that bloody milk frother?

Good job! I was thinking when playing around with mine and measuring the fogstar seat base battery that there's enough room to put the factory harness connectors down the side. Easier than trying to stuff them into the channel under the carpet!

I finished off the wiring looms for my kitchen pod, all wrapped with fabric tape.
