Where Have You Been In Your Van Today?

I've just bought a lightweight emtb for the wife after she borrowed our friend's Orbea M20 Rise over New Year. Ended up with a Giant Trance X Advanced e+ elite 2. Just built it up today and it's a stunning piece of kit. I'll be the one at the back now, slogging up the hills on my old hardtail.
I've yet to get tests rides but I'm looking at a TQ HPR50 equipped emtb - I still need to be able to hikeabike, and I just need that bit of a boost on long, big days in the mountains.

Yep that motor looks fantastic. Proper space tech. Currently only in the Trek Fuel exe range and they weren't reduced in the January sales (2024 models) to the price point I wanted to be at for a model with decent finishing kit.
I've got to buy sodding pedals now as her old ones are the wrong colour.

It's the canyon Spectral On:Fly I'm looking at, much better value/better spec, and the UK canyon service centre HQ is an hour's drive in case of any issues.

oooooooo drool. That looks amazing. I had a budget of £3.5k so got an ex display with £3k off. It's way too much of a bike for her riding local bridleways and trail centre blue routes, so any more is a waste.

Quick trip to Chorley and back: Late last year we managed to break one of the door shelves in the van's fridge so I ordered a new one along with a second shelf as there are extra mount points in the fridge door for additional shelves. I sent them a picture of the fridge data plate and the part number moulded into the remains of the broken shelf. Went to pick up the order today, and the ones they got in don't fit...

Trip wasn't a total loss, called into Halfords for some blade fuses, then to Adlington on the way back for an exchange 907 gas canister.

In for MoT today, passed & no advisories.

Not been on for a while as my brother passed away 29 December… devastated.

I am so very, very sorry to hear about you brother passing away. I had not read the last part of your post and gave a thumb up I only saw the MOT part which I tried to edit out but can not. So I am sorry for what might be considered as inappropriate, frivolous or callus.

Back to Chorley today, I now have a fridge door with 3 working shelves and also 2 folding shelf edge pieces for the internal metal shelves to stop stuff slipping off the edge while driving.
