Hi all,

Going to look at a T6 Dormobile camper conversion, the van is a good spec 150 Highline T30 but im just wondering what the reviews are of Dormobile. I know they have a long heritage converting VWs but when googling, its abit difficult to find their recent history. Looks like they closed down and a new company have licensed their name...... unsure.

For this particular van its a traditional layout, and the poptop is west dubs? again makes me think a new company licensing the name? wouldn't dormobile have their own poptops and canvas etc?

Anyone know much about them and can anyone review West Dubs?

TIA

Nick

It would appear the current business it not an actual descendent or the original company but may have somehow acquired the rights to the name. To be fair I would in their shoes.

On the plus side they're both NCC approved and have Type Approval accreditation. It's not easy to get one, and to my knowledge the number of converters with both in the UK is high single digits, so that alone should give a reasonable assurance as to the quality and consistency of their work.

As for the layout, the source of their pop tops and fittings, etc, I'm sure they'd be happy to fill you in if you called them.

Thanks for the reply, will update once found out more.

Kind regards

Thanks everyone, in the end we didn't go view the dormobile because we found a lovely one closer to home that we are hoping to pick up tomorrow all being well :)

Also thanks Oli for the invitation, we are not far from you! looks like you know your stuff, so may well be in contact about a few things in the future!
