Who,s got what ? Euro 5 or euro 6 owner

Euro 6 150 DSG, economy seems to bee improving with mileage, nearing the 2k mark now...

Agree with the power delivery being like the old 1.9 pd engines

I'm happy with mine, not that you have a choice as they are all Euro 6 now!

Euro 6 204 6SP-MAN Ad-Blue

Still can't believe how much power comes from that tiny box. I'm guessing wizardry is involved...

Why do lots of owners with the sportline front splitter fitted, not have the centre lower section in black, is this lazy colour coding or by request?

Mines a Euro 6 204

Not sure why there's animosity towards the Adblue, i've done 8k so far and put less than a fivers worth in, mfd says 3k before any more is required, no big deal to me, the first fill cost me 3.4p in Adblue for every gallon of fuel i used, 3.4p worth of diesel is enough to cover a few hundred metres  this is more than likely to be offset in other ways based on the 180's v 204 comparisons.

Nothing against adblue, just more stuff to go wrong, my neighbour owns a garage and his first comment was your better off without it!

Just please remember that the adblue reduces NOx emission (in a test environment) to a 1/5 of the previous engine emissions. A small price for better health and longer life?

All the adblue issues are dsg related. Thus that's why I stayed away from dsg as adviced from my local VW specialist garage.

@SofaKing , I don't think anyone would mind the lower emissions etc of the adblue system, if it was more reliable, especially when the likes of @Twoguns are going through the mill! Confidence inspiring it is not.. Thank fcuk mines a eu5!
No problem, However I have not seen statistics that document that the problems as reffered to are the general rule of the new eu6. (Probably 500.000 out there rolling by now?)

Bear in mind that new technolgy will bring new problems that will need incremental development over the comming years. Still a step in the right direction. I have my 5 year / 200.000km warranty and mobility warranty, they screw up, they fix it :)

Might be worth noting that we found it very hard to find AdBlue in France; tried all sorts of possible outlets but only managed to find €10.99 for 1.5 litres at a service station; many had none at all.

And do be careful; I added some with that special nozzle but still had a tiny dribble escape which almost immediately crystallised on the paint; rinsed it off sharpish.

Ours started moaning at 1400 miles range and has been making a right fuss; now on 1000 miles range but found a garage with a pump thanks to a handy adblue finding website.

Will top up on our way home.

@Polzeylad , seen it stacked in the doorway of services in Brittany, think it was the Mont Saint Michael Esso or Shell? From memory on the motorway..

@SofaKing , I don't think anyone is adverse to cleaning up the image that diesel has got at the moment, but the time was that things only came to market after they had been fully developed and tested, unlike now where we are the testers for VW and their resultant fixes and upgrades...

I agree, but it could be worse. You could be driving Tesla ;)
