Hi,
I'm about to buy my first T6, it has electric folding wing mirrors, does anyone know or could measure the width of the van with the wing mirrors folded in.
It's not a deal breaker but would just like to know if I will be able to get the van up my drive past my gate posts.
Thanks in advance.
John

If it's any help mine fits through a standard single garage door with both folded, leaving about 20mm either side side

Measured mine at 2.1m

Mine would fit into the garage but it was rather tight with about 10mm each side. So I cut into the frame and made some removable sections for the folded mirrors. They are located on dowels with small magnets to hold in position and then the door fixes them in place when closed.

That my friend is truly a magnificent show of T6 admiration. Sawing up your house to make it fit your car. Top job.:thumbsup:

I've seen a few posts on this subject but haven't seen a definite answer.

I've had a couple of quotes for new garage doors but before I agree to go ahead I need to check the van will fit through the door! Height is OK but it's really hard to measure the width of the van accurately. Could anyone whose van fits through their garage door please let me know the dimensions of their opening? (oooh err!)

Maybe you need to consider the type of garage door that rolls up and mounts against the brickwork rather than worrying about the framework around the garage door?

The quotes I have are for roller doors but they will have a narrow frame on each side to guide the doors. Just wondering if anyone who keeps their van in the garage could let me know the width of their door frame?

our frames run down the rear of the brick pillars ... there isn’t a standard size for a garage, so the chances are that they are all different

Appreciate that cheers, hopefully someone can help answer my question.

I was lucky, I didn’t know if it would fit or not. Iv got about 1cm either side of the door, it’s too close really but I just take my time when I put it away.

I have about 2cm each side with the mirrors folded! I have stuck camping mat to the walls at the entrance so the mirrors touch that first. Plus mine is a lwb so I have camping mat in the back wall as van only just fits lengthways.
