Looking for an external cover. Not a fan of the ones with eyes on them, so just a plain looking one.
THQ is usually my go-to place to shop but there are so many of these around…..

Which do you use and why?

we've got a rainbow screens, really good quality and insulated. loads of different colours and designs, only bad point is they don't pack down small

Two separate things here....

You have a basic cover for snow, ice or quick over night stays in the van.

Then you have the full blown insulated covers for proper camping.

Fyi we have both, and use both for separate occasions.

Original paragon silverscreen is the only way for me  .
Had ours 10 years and bought one the same for our motorhome .
The company is a little old school in the sense that their website is pants , but ring them up and deal with a 'real' person over the phone :D.
Service and quality is awesome , just like the good old days .

The insulated covers are good for camping.

They keep the heat in at night. Stop condensation on the front Windows and stop the sun heating the van during the day....... But they are more cash and fold away large.

The basic covers fold down small, are cheaper but don't offer any of the insulation attributes above.

...

We use the basic cover in snow and ice, plus on a quick one night stop over. Ie britstop or stealth camp.

But move onto the insulated one for any three day or longer planed campouts.

Both have separate uses for us.

Sorry to hijack a thread, but saves opening a new one.

We've been using a Stitches&Steel cover for a few years, works great, keeps the light out and packs away small. Only issue it isn't insulated. I've looked at the insulated ones and they don't seem like they will pack down small enough.

As another option, does anywhere do internal insulated panels for the windows? Space is at a premium in our van! Haha

We use a Just Kampers insulated cover. Folds and squashes up small enough. Used it last night in minus 6 and woke up to no condensation or ice on the inside of the screen and front windows. Other windows were frozen on the INSIDE.
