Windscreen Wipers

Hi Folks,

Apologies, this is really trivial, but annoying.

Having spent 8 hours on the road yesterday in dry>drizzle>rain conditions I was getting thoroughly annoyed with the wipers on the van. They judder and shudder as they drag across the screen and thump when they change direction, particularly when it is drizzle and not real English rain.

The blades are in perfect condition.

I am going to try and replace the existing blades with something that is softer and more flexible, I have used Bosch before without any problems.

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Give your windscreen a really good clean - that should help with the judder. Then new wipers as advised above. A wiper may look ok, but they do wear and collect a lot of tiny bits.

As above.

Clean the screen with glass cleaner,

And.

Fit a new genuine set of Bosch blades.

Also.make sure you have a good mix of screen wash for winter.

Fake blades are defo a thing, stay away from cheap eBay cack.....stick with euro cp etc etc.

Get yourself some Glaco. Won't need wipers above 45mph. But if you do use them, it's Bosch twin aero here as well.

30 of your English Pounds? Pricey! Never heard of it, I will do some reading. Thanks for the pointer.

It's enough stuff to do my T6 and Polo screens twice this year. T shaped one cleans your screen of all crap and contamination. Deodorant looking one adds hydrophobic quality to your screen. At speed, rain just slides off without wipers.

Has anyone said Bosch Aerotwin yet :slow rofl:
They really are amazing. They, like, wipe all the water from the windscreen.
Strange but true.

Often wipers drag and judder when the angle of attack is incorrect. Can buy a special tool or just use a mole grip or pliers and twist into correct angle. Mention must support the arm with something similar.
