So.. assuming you've owned your van for a little while, what are the things you wish you'd ordered that you didn't, or, the things you ordered that you absolutely would'nt be without

Please!

Wouldn't be without led headlights , power latching side and rear door , power folding mirrors but I wish I had gone DSG as it would be so much easier while driving up steep hills in the Lakes etc

I'm suprised you said powdered doors, we had so much trouble with ours.. maybe they're better now! DSG is literally top of my list!

I am in the process of switching from 6 to 6.1 and top of our list (it’s the wife’s daily school run machine) is making sure it’s a highline so it has heated screen/parking sensors etc followed by LED headlights, twin sliders, split rear seats, power latching
I have more options on the order but that’s the couldn’t live withouts !

Here are the specs of my van when ordered as a factory build. Here is the link that started off similar to yours, Cost Of Base Van...

if you get High line, then some of the below options are already included. All the best.

Van
T6 Kombi, T32 Highline, 204, LWB, DSG 4 Motion

Options
- Metallic paint - indium grey
- Removable tow bar with electrics - better to get this as factory fit a better option for bike racks, in my opinion
- Diff lock - only relevant if your going 4Motion/4Wheel Drive
- Front factory fit captains swivel seats - as discussed elsewhere better than the bench for my needs
- Heated seats - nice to have
- Comfort Dash/with carpet - I better look and feel than the ‘builders’ van standard option
- Front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera - a must and comes with the high line spec I think
- High beam assist - auto manages the high beams when switched on
- App connect
- Power latching for passenger side sliding door - useful when closing quietly
- Power latching for tailgate - useful when wanting to close quietly
- Adaptive cruise control - adjusts the speed of the van automatically depending on the proximity of the car in front - great for motorways
- LED Headlights and rear lights with daytime running - a must as standard headlights are not good
- ElectricWing mirrors, folding
- 6.33 composition media
- twin usb (no cost option but you have to specify...)
- Windows to all panels - slide opening window to rear seat windows, fixed window on rear sections)
- Tailgate with heated window and wiper
- 80L fuel tank - an inexpensive addition and useful for long journeys
- All weather tires - come with these is you have 4Motion
- Hill descent assist - not needed if you don’t have 4 motion

- Heated front screen
- Headlamp washer system
- Life Shine - protective paint finish I would won’t as a freebie extra
- Full tank of Diesel - I expect a full tank whe. I buy a new vehicle
- Unbadged - removal of unnecessary badge on the back of the van
- get the extra keys, it’s an option

we have the standard air con, not climate control - it’s good enough - I might be tempted to get it next time but it’s not a must for me.

Comfort Dash/with carpet - I better look and feel than the ‘builders’ van standard option

Yeah, good shout, that was a must have for me too.

My must have list when I was looking for a (used) van was,

204
Highline
DSG
Air conditioning
LED headlights
Heated seats
Comfort dash
Cab carpet
Tailgate
Any colour except black

If you’re looking at used vans you’ll probably have to compromise on something (depending on how long your list is)
I managed to get all my wants except the heated seats, but to be honest you don’t really need them with cloth seats.

Had my van about 3 months now and wouldn’t be without DSG and LED headlights. The only thing i would quite like would be power latching for the tailgate- it shuts fine with a window open but needs a good shove when everything else is closed.

We use ours as a family car/ day vans and intend to use it for camping in the future. We have 5 seat combi.
I wish i had gone for twin slider, primarily as for getting in and out with the isofix car seats in, especially as when i drive on my own the baby seat is by the door so i can see it in the rear mirror, this blocks the other back seats if we have another child.

On the flip side if your going to convert single slider is the preferred to accommodate the units, however i have seen some cool twin slider conversions and it could be super handy to get to the rear of the cupboards from the outside of the van

We ticked practically every box on the order form when we specced our van, so there’s not much we could have added. However, if I was doing it again, I wouldn’t bother with:-
Tailgate power latching
Apple Carplay
Premium WiFi
Tailgate window inc, wash/wipe/heated.

A slightly curveball one, but something that's helped me out on several occasions, not technically a dealer option but handy none the less..... - being lowered with no poptop/roof bars to enable me to be under 2M tall...so far its helped on ferry crossings along with multiple barriers and carparks etc.

I get under 2m barriers on mine. Standard Highline kombi

My min was twin slider, 2+1 rear, captains seats, tailgate, Highline spec. Also have DSG, it's ace. I've put LED headlights in mine

My list will sound familiar:

Highline - you'll get AC, heated screen, parking sensors and colour coded mirrors and doors

Reversing camera - can be easily retro fitted, but if you're speccing from the factory, might as well add it now

Twin swivels - such a cheap extra on a factory order when compared to retro fit

Heated seats - not expensive and good to have

But DO NOT pay the extra for the upgraded head/sat nav unit. Its expensive and pants...... and the standard one works great with android for mapping/sat nav. I almost went for the upgrade and so gald i didnt now.

But I do wish I'd added the LED's ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mine's got a Reimo pop top and I can get into 2m height limited car parks - did it only this afternoon. I'm lowered around 40mm on Koni Sport/H&R ARBs.

Totally agree - do not go for the VW satnav option. A complete waste of time. Use the Apple/Andoid app connect and connect to waze.

If going for a T6 the factory head unit is easily changeable, not so sure about the T6.1 yet...
