Work van Wednesday

For that sort of money I'm sure you get decent lights, side windows that don't leak every time it rains, and an engine that doesn't have a tantrum if you do too many short journeys. :slow rofl:
They still suffer from all those issues !

WVW. New boiler going into renter. From the other thread. Impressed with the quality and tech on the Worcester 2000 30Kw Combi. It's going to replace one of many 15 year old Biasi combis that are stating to play up...

I'm on oil (No gas main in the village) and when I bought this house the heating engineer serviced it and said it's getting old, it must be over 10 years old.
That was 25 years ago and it's now like Trigger's broom, it's had new this, new that....
The same engineer still services it every year and he says I could replace it with a slightly more efficient condensing boiler which won't last 15 years and will be less reliable. Why would I???
So, the current oil boilers are more efficient and more environmentally friendly than the old ones, but will be less robustly made, more complex, less reliable and won't last half as long. Remind you of anything?

An interesting Work van Wednesday job up in Scotland.
A roofing company applied some kind of sealer over a factory roof next to where this Motorhome was stored, to seal in asbestos apparently. They were asked if vehicles needed to be moved, but said no, it was fine, only to cover dozens of cars, vans and 2 Motorhomes in what I can only describe as overspray (see bottom picture) but not fine overspray like you'd see in a bodyshop, it was much bigger/heavier and very difficult to remove off the fibreglass surfaces. This roofing company actually had an in-house 'detailer' that followed them around job to job, rectifying this issue on cars, but he was unsuccessful on the Motorhomes (and actually made it far worse)
So we were called in to put things right, but my goodness was it a difficult job. Thankfully we were successful and the job looked far better than it did before the overspray, according to the owner.

I'd be interested to know what these guys actually sprayed on the roof if anyone in the roofing industry knows. I was told the factory had a certain percentage of asbestos within its roof, and instead of removing this and replacing the roof, they spray some kind of sealer over the roof to make it safe.

Oh and the elephant in the room.... I've no idea why they just didn't have all the vehicles moved, and put that down to stupidity as a company. We still have the another Motorhome to go back and do, but awaiting authorisation.

Toureshine, I think that you need to know what was in the spray for your personal health. Has primary company that initiated the contract taken due care? Have they been open or cavalier? Usually with anything asbestos strict protocol is employed and adhered to .:cautious:
