World Of Carbon Tailgate Spoiler?

i have loads of pics and feel like im going to go very public soon...fed up
shouldnt take so long to sort...
i need a new spoiler, it looks really bad where inner moisture has bubbled out laquer wise etc..

Hope they still sell them, that looks way better than my gloss black one.

@T6DSGChris if they compensate you for this would it be possible for a body shop to do something rather than trying to remove it? I can imagine trying to remove a spoiler that has been correctly bonded will be a nightmare.
I was thinking about asking them if the did a mat finish but I’m not so sure now.
I know there are problems with products from time to time but it then comes down to quality of customer service

....and when i have a problem with an item it gets sorted asap to keep my customer...unfortunately this issue with vwcarbon has been going on for months..
you can warm them up and they do come off with some grief...4 thousand mile van....thats all i have done..
a new unit was sorted and i went to collect other day from his bodyshop man and it wasnt any good...double laquered bla bla bla..
but with terrible weave pattern right in the eyeline..
pics to follow...
ps you do know these are just vanstyle spoilers with carbon wrapped round and then laquered dont you...
feel like ripping it off and just painting one...but i have carbon all over van and i did like it... well grim... wasted yesterday morning also..
awaiting an email back.

I wouldn’t have even got it out of the box. Was it fitted for you @T6DSGChris ?
No it was at his bodyshop he uses for laquering... vwcarbon wraps a normal spoiler with carbon sheet patches.. bodyshop he uses laquers them..they’d made me a minter... apparently... just gets you fed up... emails back n forth for months... crap service

i sell mac tools.. i had a welders sh!titself a day after receiving... i sent it straight off... came back damaged, i go barmy with supplier, they send new unit out, it sh’!t itself within the hour... i get asked for refund, i’d already changed the supplier and got the lad a better unit at same money and a freeby jazzy worklight from previous supplier for letting him down. Not hard to sort an issue...
Unless... your names vwcarbon.

I agree totally. If you supply a service first of all it should do what it says on the tin!

If you make a mistake or there's fault somewhere get it sorted asap and keep good communication with the client.
It's pretty simple really.

I've always liked the WOC products( but never owned any) and have been thinking of a front splitter for the standard bumper.

Now I know their products are just wrapped it kind of puts me off.

Hope you get some resolve soon. Keep fighting it you have a very valid case by the looks of it.

They must have changed their process because my spoiler is definitely not wrapped.

i dont mean wrapped as in decal chavvy wrapped....
you can see underneath before bonding on to tailgate that its a black spoiler... you can see the joins where he lays/joins carbon sheet on top..
simular to front splitter..on the corner sections it starts a new sheet of carbon
he buys them from a well known transporter supplier online.. then builds them up with carbon..
bet you be surprised.. real carbon is just a sheet of weave fabric isnt it and then gets layered up and laquered...
...hes supposed to be making me yet another...

I have to agree with @Deaky , mine is definitely not wrapped either, pretty sure its not black either. I'm not doubting what you're saying @T6DSGChris ,maybe he has changed his process. I have the rear spoiler and a front splitter. Those photos above are shocking quality though and you have every right to be annoyed,i know i would be

so...its taken all this time... another gets sent out... opinions gladly welcome.... spoiler was ok all bar the one end where I'd say he's over polished the lacquer and we are through to the weave... i would suspect this would let moisture in and it would fail again within months.
This chap unfortunately, can not just make this product correctly.

frustration overload.....complaint been going on at least 12 months..

Hi @T6DSGChris,

If I were in your shoes I would take it as it is and remedy the issue. I wouldn’t trust sending it back and ever getting a replacement that would be perfect. It’s been12 months already, if you send it back it might be another 12 months.

I appreciate this is isn’t what you want to hear. I too am looking at spoilers and bumper guards from these guys although on the back of your story I am now very wary.

The main issue is there isn’t another supplier that I can find that sells these.
