Quick test: I turned off Location Services from iPhone and Magic Earth in CarPlay was not able to get GPS anymore. Alas, CarPlay apps in T6 with Discover Media and Ottocast wireless CarPlay dongle are not able to utilize Discover Media built-in GPS.

you can buy an adapter cheap enough that will enable wireless CarPlay.

Afaik wired CarPlay may use either while wireless CarPlay is required to use car’s GPS - as the phone may be eg in a bag or on a charging pad. Not sure though how it’s in T6 and if a wired to wireless dongle changes anything.

All T6.1 have CarPlay, discover media is the upgraded unit with built in satnav and I think it also has wireless CarPlay vs wired carplay on the standard headunit

Only the upgraded factory sat nav unit has wireless in the 6.1 the standard radio is wired only Either of the usb c ports in the lower cubby hole are enabled for CarPlay etc

Replaced the composition colour with a composition media and swapped the green usb connecter for the other one so I have CarPlay. It all worked first time and no plastic clips were broken. Just need a wireless dongle and I’m golden
