Fantasy van spec

If you could have a particular feature, piece of equipment or a specification on your van that was either on the options list and wasn't fitted from new or something VW don't offer, what would it be?
SWB/LWB, 2/3/4/5/6/7/9 seats, permanent double bed, coffee machine, 6 gears (for the 110 fans... )
Did you compromise when you bought your van and what on? I don't think I did with mine - although I would have like a 6.1, I didn't have the budget and maybe if I'd been more patient, I would have bought an EU6 van which, other than I might have been more encouraged to go to one place within ULEZ, hasn't actually made any difference. Whereas I've previously compromised on colour for the right spec of car.

I may still retrofit front OPS, H-LN rear camera and heated seats. Side assist would be a nice retrofit but not sure what else needs to be done.
The ultimate fantasy spec would be rear electric windows in the twin sliders. Oh - factory LED headlights too but I'm not spending that.

Go!

Van is a T6.1 highline t28 110 SWB converted by camperversions.

Things I intend to do in near future are extra sound proofing in cab and led headlights.

Possible upgrade would be the addition of the sub to the alpine speaker kit.

Unlikely upgrade would be a heated steering wheel!

Probably impossible upgrade would bea PHEV engine

Apart from that little lot I'm pretty happy with it

I’d have had a comfort dash which wasn’t available when mine was built.
80L tank and reverse camera didn’t get added because I didn’t want to wait and got a stock van.
Colour was compromised as indium instead of starlight and I’ve since added factory LED headlights.
Overall I’m pleased but I wish I’d have waited for starlight and the comfort dash and the other bits on a factory order.

A dishwasher! That's my job, I hate it... i would get it in somehow, but may need to exchange for a LWB.
Paper plates and plastic cutlery!

The only thing that didn't meet my exact requirements was the lack of awning, but it's going back at the end of the month to have a new Fiamma awning fitted at their expense, so it will then tick every single box on my list.

Wireless CarPlay and charging or just a head unit that doesn’t need resetting every month to stop the crackle!

LWB and a pop top would be my wants on my van. Oh and 4motion but on the 150tdi not the potentially ruinous 204BiTdi!!

As this T6.1 will probably be my last I specced everything I wanted. The only thing I would have added, would have been side airbags, which I had in my T6 but not available in the 6.1.

A EV version that could do at least 600miles, and carry a ton, ( VAT qualifying ) and seat 5 would be nice, but hey, you live in hope.

I had them on my T6, but never used them.

As for what I'd have liked my T6 Velle to have. Factory LEDs, Rear Camera and Adaptive Cruise.

Petrol 4Motion...

But they never made any RHD ones, so I had to plump for a Diesel 4Mo

Sigh...

The only thing now I would love on my 2016 T6 is Cruise control as roads here are long and straight so would save loads on fuel.

This. Our rule - whomever cooks, doesn't have to do the washing up. Lot of volunteering to cook on my part!
Wifey always cooks, 'cos she knows what she has Tetris'd into the fridge. I always get to wash up. We tried paper plates, but prefer real plastic! The last day is great because everything goes in a big bag to put in the doshwisher when we get home.
I have a real hatred of the big Cadac grill plates!

Like the Loch capsule 2.0?

950w should be achievable on an inverter?
Love you @Lubrown ! Power is fine but I'm looking at Amazon's second one on the list at £199 wondering if I can fit it in! But at 30 odd quid that Loch Capsule has to be worth a try! No reviews though, yet...

You can get it retro-fitted pretty cheap, even with genuine VW parts. Well worth it.
There lays the problem. Here in Spain unless its factory fitted it will not pass ITV (MOT in UK) and there is no one here in Spain that will fit them!!!! Would still be interested in fitting it if you know who does it as they might be able to advise. We are back in UK next year for a bit. Thank you none the less

I activated cruise control on my startline when I fitted a multi function steering wheel.
Do you think you would get away swapping the steering wheels?
I’m curious to know how campervans can pass the ITV ?
Surely they are all modified with the exception of California’s etc.

If you use a genuine VW cruise control stalk/steering wheel how are they to know that it wasn't factory fitted, surely they don't check the build sheet of every vehicle that's presented to them.
