Yep- seems to be the consensus that with removal, proper clean and refit the dpf has had it's day anyway so that's fairly pointless....
Don't want to destroy this lovely new turbo! Also don't want to spend more money but it's looking inevitable.
@WinFreak I know you had a lot of other issues-...
I have 2017 CXHA 150 engine which has fault code P226D damaged or missing.
Haven't removed to inspect DPF but my exhaust is very sooty.
I was driving home one evening and the van was in regen mode.
Went round a roundabout and exited flat out in 3rd gear. Seconds later, almighty bang and we...
Hello all
My van t6.1 has been in limp mode because of a dpf filter is blocked.
I have taken it to vw garage Peterborough and they have said that it's because the fuel had been run low and because of this they are refusing to do the work under warranty.
I took delivery of the vehicle in Feb...
That’s my theory.
As for poor design; I would expect any manufacturer to carry out overspeed trials of any turbocharger for an extended period before entering production, however that would be done with perfect lubrication - pressure, temperature and zero contaminants.
Cheers for the reply roadtripper. Am I right in thinking DPF regen won’t work with the faults existing? The level was showing as 40 something so not crazy high. The DPF was done by previous owner’s mechanic not too long ago, full service history and oil and filter changes every 6 months or so so...
WoW!!! Thanks for all that. I've installed Torque Pro and will give it a go later today, but only doing 8 miles each way today.
There's a lot to set up, so I'll get stuck into that.
More data attached, sorry, just clicked wrong file.
Ash residue..... Well....., I was stuck in limp mode, I...
Either disconnect the exhaust at the turbo, or remove the exhaust gas temperature sensor before the dpf and see if it runs. If it does, then you know it's blocked as the gasses can now escape
...is that one of the glow plugs has an intermittent fault so they will replace that.
They are now going to change the oil/filter and replace the DPF and then run further tests, but the working theory (although impossible to tell for sure) is that the driving style of the previous owner wasn't...
If you carry on running with a clogging DPF it will end up costing much more than the initial DPF replacement.
There is plenty of info’ on the Forum regarding the reasons DPFs do not re-gen successfully and what happens if you run the engine with excessive exhaust back pressure. You could end up...
I bought the app just before this post only to discover that it OBDeleven won’t work with it !!!
Currently monitoring via OBDeleven, all the data is there, it’s just not in as user- friendly an interface! Makes me want a Carista as well!!!
