Hi,
I have t6.1 with a ctek 250se and a Duritc battery charger. Just ordered a BM2 as the starter battery is being drained. The van is standing for weeks at a time and I’m leaving on the EHU at weekends but the charger is only charging the leisurebattery. Is there a way to stop the starter...
Hello,
We 've got a T6 Beach on a 2017 plate and am having issues with the leisurebattery not charging, the RCD in the boot of the van trips instantly and I suspect the factory fit VW charger is to blame, seeing as the charger is hidden behind the trim I'd like to have a suitable replacement...
Seems like that could work. As there is a positive from the starter to the ctek 250, I presume I could tap off it here and like you say it’s neatly next to to the ctek and leisurebattery?
Not sure how all the boxes play together as the charger charges the leisure when EHU and then trickle the...
Hi I recently bought a 12v charger for my van to charge my e-bike from the leisurebattery (bought from the UK dealer specifically for this bike) when not plugged into a mains EHU. I plugged the charger into a 12v cigarette lighter style socket connected to leisurebattery and a green light...
I'm wiring one of these in permanently between my leisurebattery and the starter battery on my MAN TGE (VW Crafter in disguise).
That seems to be one of the recommended modules for keeping the starter battery charged from a leisurebattery which has some method of keeping topped-up either by...
As Salty Spuds says that will work fine. AMT near the CTEK with one cable to the positive from starter battery, another positive to the CTEK output to the leisurebattery and a negative (to the neg on the CTEK or nearby neg point). Leave and forget. No more flat starter battery.
Hi guys,
Hoping you can help.
We replaced our leisurebattery in July due to the previous being dead - it was tested by our local garage and confirmed so I replaced it.
Since then we appear to be having an issue with the split charging system - when on EHU we have endless power which appears...
Firstly, my set up:
90ah agm leisurebattery
CTEK dc to dc charger
Victron Ac charger
T6 2019 Highline camper conversion with low mileage of 15k on the clock
Job last week carried out by professional installer:
Upgraded agm leisurebattery, now 130ah
Installed solar and connected to CTEK
Tidied...
Hi,
Have a 75 leisurebattery.
Never noted a problem. Had a dash cam uninstalled last couple of weeks.
Van has sat for a day. Noticed BM2 at 0%?! With voltage as 9
No load, fridge, lights on etc.
Plugged into house EHU and charged up to 100%.
Just checked again now and BM2 as below?!
Any...
How far do you think I should go with a Lithium replacement?
My 2018 t32 t6 is a pop-top conversion which has a factory fit diesel heater and 75Ah leisurebattery under front seat and an independently wired 105Ah leisurebattery system (VSR, EHU mains charger and EHU) in the rear supporting...
Before connecting a battery conditioner to one of the cab 12V sockets to charge the starter battery, it’s a good idea to first determine whether they’re fed from the starter battery or the leisurebattery. In a T6.1 with a factory-fitted leisurebattery, both the cab sockets are fed from the...
Hi
When I installed my leisurebattery I fitted a CTEK D250SE which works perfectly. But now I want to also install an electric hook up, I am okay with getting the mains power in to the van but am unsure how to set this up to keep my leisurebattery topped up. My questions are these, is there a...
As @Dellmassive says, most conversion EHU setups seem to replenish the leisurebattery but fail to address the vehicle starter battery.
If you post up some photos and details of your conversion, we’d be able to advise.
Further to the suggestions above, plugging in a battery charger with the...
Thanks to the advice from various forum members including @Dellmassive and @roadtripper, over winter we updated our failing lead acid leisure batttery to a Fogstar LiFeP04 105ah battery with a Victron charger. Our original Yuasa battery only lasted 2.5 years despite not going below 50% soc...
Charger = on EHU.
Plug it into the mains; the voltage display should rise above 13-14v.
If you have a charger attached, then the manual says it should charge either Leisure or Vehicle (but not both at the same time).
Confirm this by switching fromLeisure to Vehicle while on EHU; if the...
It will be fine, its just losing power due to the draw from the fridge. Obviously it would be better if you could charge it via mains (EHU). You just dont want to run the leisurebattery flat as that can cause damage
I’m going to start buying the equipment I need to upgrade to a kick ass lithium set up that will provide a lot longer off grid camping.
Thanks to a lot of advice from @Dellmassive I've got a great idea of what to buy now. Also thanks to @Tall_Paul for solar panel advice.
So here is my proposed...
The answer is yes there is. But without knowing what you already have installed in the van it's impossible to give any meaningful advice. You may already have the facility, but it could be operator error. Or you maybe lacking a vital bit of kit. Either way, we need more info & pictures of...
