I'm a 102 er and its been OK. Not quick off the mark but a good plodder. I'm considering a Pendal remap for some time in the future as I'm not too far from them but also have a good local agent.

Quite a few posts on this already, my view has always been that nobody ever (waiting to be corrected!) went to a garage and asked if they could remap their van down to give it less power. Search using the term "102". :thumbsup:

I've not read about any on here doing stage 2. But knowing concerns about the 102 turbos I would imagine that would be one thing to consider replacing.

Pendle do a t6 102 euro 6 remap ,I had mine done the other month it has transformed how the van drives super smooth power , you don't need to change down from 5th to 4 th or 3rd to overtake .I get better MPG, recommend you look on the Pendle website and see if there is an agent nr you

My van had a very similar poor remap, juddered when trying to put power through in lower revs. Had it taken off (102 -156measured, though the base van wasn't 102, it came in at 113). Then put Pendle on, drives like a different vehicle, so smooth now, no judder, think it's now 172bhp. Was done...

A decent remap on a 102 will Limit the torque to protect the gearbox. Done property you will have no issues. A remap on the 102 really brings the engine alive. Poor remap, will bring on clutch judder and torque spikes. How does it drive?

A good remap will take account that the 5 speed is weak and torque limit the first few gears. I don’t think Revo do the 102 anymore, but Pendle do. Tuning boxes have a place, but definitely won’t torque limit lower gears.

Just wanted to give a quick update on this previous post…. Recently I took my van for a service and MOT (this being it’s first MOT since the above EGR and ADBLUE ‘solution’) and I’m happy to say it sailed through the MOT with no advisories at all…. just a nice compliment on my van from the MOT...

The general feeling is the Pendle remap is the one to have as some others are believed to have been too aggressive and caused damage to the 102's turbo, some mappers just wont tun a 102 at all. it doesn't look like Pendle have an agent in Jersey though, so unless you fancy a trip to England...

It seems clear to me that there is no point fitting a new turbo until you have established exactly what caused the failure of the two previous turbos. I personally don't see how a few miles driving on a brand new genuine VW turbo with a remapped engine could cause the turbo to fail, there are...
