I am going this route but was wondering how important is the 4 wheel alignment on a 4 motion..?
Is it likely to cause issues if the rears sit further in or out than the fronts... How closely aligned should they be..?
I’ve had this argument with my local VW garage!! The ones ending with D are the proper VW California ones. The black ones show up on the commercial van system. The better ones ending C can be ordered from the commercial VW but they are actually for the VW cars! You have to force commercial to...
...never lowered any vehicles that I have owned in the past and I’m very happy so far with the feel and ride quality driving the van.

Got 15mm H&R on the rear, and the cantara alloys fill the arches nicely.
Just need the campsites to open and everything will be good again.
...make much difference to standard dampers & the H&R springs?
I understand, that it's a very subjective matter, but my summer wheels are 19" Cantara alloys, like yours, with the same -40mm H&R springs, on standard Vw dampers.
The HR's being fitted by Andy @ AJC when he completed the...
...to fit
Which is a bit of a bummer, as when I ordered the van these were an optional extra. More T6 money wasted
But it then means, I can fit my 19" Cantaras all year round :).
Every cloud and all that.
Do I fit 19" all season tyres and if I do will they be 245/45's or 255/45's?
Hi Guys
That looks awesome! I've got the same wheels on my T6 but its still on standard suspension.
How much have you had yours lowered by?
P.S Only just made an account so new to the forum
@StueyStuey - could you tell me what colour those Cantaras are please? I have a set fitted, but just as they come from Vw - in silver.
They really do seem to suit the T6 - are you going to Busfest so I could take a look?
Thanks for the info on the centre caps, I have just bought some Cantara and had assumed my old centre caps would fit ... do you think VW alter the hole centres by 2mm on purpose??
Bought these on 24-10-2020:
Fitted them on 22-11-2020:
And lost 1 of them today on the 1st journey I've done in 6 weeks
They were definitely on when I left home, as the neighbour asked why they were all the same way, all the time.
He is a Ford driver, so I have to make allowances when...
All road application KONI shocks are twin Tube and I have to say the difference isn't subjective at all, The difference is day and night and all the members on here that have purchased them will confirm this . The design of the KONI shock internals is very different and performs in a much...
...and tyres on a wheel size website and compare them to your new proposed set up. It will show you any difference in the "poke" based on the different ET's and tyre width etc
I had spacers on my Devonports but none on my Amarok Cantara's.

The rears are wound all the way down in these pics, and the front has about 10mm thread left to go. You could get the back about 12mm lower by removing the adjusters if you wished. Van is empty in the shots so if you have had a conversion done you should probably wind the rears up 10-15mm to get...
@moomin-j Yes, they are twin tube Koni's by CRS. They do provide a much more comfortable drive and absorb the potholes much better. The van hugs the road much more noticeable and doesn't wallow around corners so much... But i can't compare the lowering springs with standard shocks... As i went...
That gap looks perfect - what did you drop the B14's down by and what size tyres have you fitted to the 19" Cantara Amarok alloys?
I have a set myself that I plan to fit after I get the van back from the converters, I have already fitted 245/45/19's, rather than the 255/55/19s as originally on...
...a situation where I thought to myself - "if only I had winter tyres on right now". So keeping them would be more about not exposing my lovely Cantara's to salty 'orrible roads, rather than the need for winter tyres.
They are 18J x 18" T5.1 OE VW Sportline rims, in black. ET50, load rated to...
