...starter pulling power is causing volt drop?
Have you got any voltage monitoring?
Can you get battery voltages.
At rest.
When cranking.
When running... No loads.
When running.... With loads.

Any engine lights or alternator lights?
Post some pics of the starterbattery and connections.
Is your van a campervan and does it have solar panel and a DC-DC charger like a Renogy or similar. My Renogy DC-DC charger, after topping up leisure battery trickle charges the starterbattery (assuming there is some sun of course)
Although my first one did die on me I run the Renogy DCC50S, latest version and this will take a solar input, the starterbattery input and according to the manual will divert charge back to the starter when that battery gets below a certain level.
That means one unit potentially takes the...
There seem to be a few threads on this but not one that covers my problem.
the back ground.
2021 T6.1 bi turbo 2wd with about 9000miles on, full camper conversion, have had an issue for a while now with battery going flat over maybe 3-4 days from fully charged to just a click when you turn key...
Has anyone installed a switch to control the internal lighting to prevent it coming on every time you open the rear door, to prevent the starterbattery being used when parked up?
...that it might be another cause. Certainly one that’s not as expensive and a pain in the arse to change.
I have replaced the starterbattery and have had VW code a new battery but am still having the same problem.
Any help or advice, other than having VW charge me a fortune to try diagnose, is...
Was going to suggest a BM2 for the starter. Everyone concentrates on the LB when camping when the poor starterbattery is getting no love at all and gets run down with constantly opening doors, unlocking etc!
Just a quick observation, unrelated to the problem, but aren’t those two Hankook batteries ‘starter’ batteries of 80 ah each?
That’s about 60kg of batteries giving a useable 80ah. You could have one 11kg 100ah LiFePo giving you the same useable power plus an extra 20 ah on the odd occasion.
Or...
the T6 starterbattery has the shunt that meters out the power,
clipping a charger to the NEG post bypasses the shunt and the van wont see the charge power.

Could any one recommend a starterbattery monitor that also checks the real life drain on the battery. (assuming this exists in a single peice of kit
I'm trying to isolator a parasitic drain off my starterbattery.
TIA
I’ve read too many threads on this, but am still confused.
I will end up with an AGM starterbattery and a LiPo (Fogstar Drift Eco) leisure battery. Some threads seem to say that it’s fine to leave the ablemail in its default setting 4, but the instructions imply that you need to program it to...
...sense wire?
If not, that is ok as using the engine shutdown protection is actually better in some ways; If set correctly, your starterbattery will be protected better by using Engine Shutdown Protection, but you will not see your domestic batteries "float" unless you are on a big run with...
You really need to find out where the second red lead on the A+IN goes to as it’s creating a direct feed to your starterbattery. Normally you would only have one cable here taking the feed from the starterbattery and as has already been said the thin red wire would be connected to an ignition...
