I had the same code recently, garage I took the van to reckoned readings didn’t suggest a clogged EGR, on further investigation he found a split in the EGR to exhaust manifold rear pipe which he replaced along with new gaskets. He did show me the part complete with split.
Time will tell but so...
We would turn all the functions of for the egr and map the egr closed permanently this allows you to blank it completely too
so you would recieve with the Tool Stg1 / level 1 tune and EGR Delete in the software.
EGR map out and block on an old BiTDI 180 and now anew engine and turbo's for 7k miles with no issues. EGR work shouldnt be noticed in an MOT. When the DPF needs replacing that will go and be mapped out.
OP says dpf and EGR remap?
So was the EGR blanked off and mapped out?
The DPF is probably clogged with burnt crusty oil... So was this mashed though and mapped out?
Official route on a new turbo is to replace the cat,dpf and oxygen sensor.... But thats costly.
Hi fitted my new Egr but in vcds I could only see adaptation of Egr vacuum couldn’t see anything about Egr adaptation on its own this my options under engine basic settings sorry about the poor pic thanks
Nothing on Carista since the EGR fault which causes the engine fault the light, the noise is an intermittent dull thud at idle or as the peddle is pressed slightly just as others have reported, it does not seem to be coming from the engine its self but behind or underneath the engine. I know the...
I'm afraid the Santa doesn't understand the issue because in his sledge the EGR cooler is bypassed during the season.

Hi all,
Just a quick one I'm not with my van at the moment but I've already blanked off the EGR gas pipes and thinking I'll bypass the coolant also just in case it wears through. Does anyone know the size of this blue connector piece? I'll grab one on the way home.
Also looking to add an oil...
If your egr is deleted and blanked off then the codes will go away together with all your egr problems. Since mine was done my dpf regens have been same as before. I don’t do many short journeys though.
What exactly is the DMF does it refer to Double mas flywheel used on vehicles with a clutch. I know DSG is the double clutch system gearbox, but not sure what DMF at least on automatic gearbox also mentions DPF, and EGR which I think EGR are to do with emissions. No idea what the other ones are.
My T6 is ex trade (AA) and now on 145k miles and to my knowledge the EGR hasn't been replaced. Im not worried because EGR issues stem mainly from short journeys I believe so trade vans (depending on the trade) will do lots of long journeys/motorway miles where they can get it nice and hot
...got back and the light stayed on.
Ordered a carista so am waiting for that to arrive today but reading here and elsewhere I’m guessing it’s the egr. Anything to check or hints etc while I’m waiting?
Will see what the code reader says, but even if not egr I’m tempted to replace the egr...
Had to have an EGR flush last August (£405), 13 months later & VW are now stating that's the same issue I'm getting the engine light show again & are asking £595 to resolve it again. Am I to assume an EGR delete etc would prevent this from happening in future ? Thanks
