Vibration in D7 in my T6.1 204 4M

Hi there
I wonder if anyone has had this problem before as I am worried it will create future damage to the gearbox. I have notices whilst driving in D7 at 1500 rpm doing 50 to 55mph and then accelerating gradually so as not to make it change to D6, I get this trebling vibrations, which then stop one’s revs and speed have increased or it has stepped down a gear.
Worried if this is causing unnecessary wear on the clutches, as I could preventing it by when it starts just by flooring the pedal. However, surely it is not right.

Are you 100% certain that if you are doing the same speed in D6 the vibrations don't occur, i.e this problem only happens in D7?

Well yes that is it I did it a couple of times in different speeds and different revs and I could only experience it in D7 and only in that engine speed which was what had me buffled. Once I reved it slowly it carried on juddering still it either went up to 60mph or revs when up to 2000 without a gear change.

What I'm suggesting is that you try to recreate the same situation and vibrations, but in D6, because if you have an issue with a driveshaft, CV joint or propshaft, it will do it in any gear, but at the same road speed. If it does it in D6 as well as D7 it's more likely to be one of those issues than a gearbox fault, IMO.

Yes that was my initial thought including the rear diff as it is 4m but the vehicle is a 23 model only driven by me and with 17,478miles on the clock so I did not think that would be the problem

At that mileage there shouldn't be any problem. But there is.
I'm suggesting a logical process of elimination, which is what I think you need, rather than, "it shouldn't be that".

Took it for a drive once again to make sure what I was saying, and it certainly did the same thing in all gears and different speeds and revés between 1500 and 2000 rpm and nothing smooth as a whistle yet in D7 is is a rumble vibration between 1500 to 2000 rpm doing 50 to 55 then it disappears reaching 60 and if I really floor it then it goes into D6 and stops going smooth again

Have you read this thread -
The consensus seemed to be that most were caused by DMF faults.
Worth considering.

What exactly is the DMF does it refer to Double mas flywheel used on vehicles with a clutch. I know DSG is the double clutch system gearbox, but not sure what DMF at least on automatic gearbox also mentions DPF, and EGR which I think EGR are to do with emissions. No idea what the other ones are.

Just thought I would update you on the vibrations felt in D7 at 1500 rpm,
It has carried on and just at the same speed 50 to 57mph I had plenty time driving to Germany and back.
So instead of carrying on and breaking the gearbox clutches which is what I think is the problem. I took it in to the vw dealer last Wednesday as I had made an appointment they have had its since, and could not fight the problem with it, taking it out for a test drive for about an hour, when I was called and told this I offered to go out with them and test drive it again but this time I drove it and showed them exactly what it does. It is still there and they are buffled and have got in touch with Germany to see what they think before opening the box.
