That code pops up quite frequently when people are in France!?

If you're still with that guy get the code reset for now and monitor. It's more likely a 'software glitch' than anything serious.
Loads of threads on here about it.
Presumably your 2019 M1/passenger class, CXGB engine ECU would have been updated from the excessive NOx polluting 4147 software version to the latest 'clean' 6163 version at the factory. Your scan tool should be able to tell you the version.
...sorry for bringing this thread back to life, but I have a 2019 Transporter Shuttle BMT 102hp with 33k miles and it has just started to report this P20EE fault. The VIN starts with WV2 and is classed as M1. Would my engine be one that requires this update you speak about?
Many thanks for your...
Correct yes I had the amber emissions light present on the dash
Yeah i did wonder if that could be the case - I have a 650 mile round trip next week so going to see what it does then....could leave me stranded if the countdown starts but should see what codes are captured on the journey.
For...
This is without doubt the worst vehicle I have ever owned......I love it to drive and use but what a needy piece of crap!!!! Shame on EU rules and VW!
So I have changed the engine after using oil and water.....I also changed the DPF as it was blocked.
Currently the Van has 800km on the new...
...thus no need to show it any more on OBD generic side?? See the statuses PENDING, CONFIRMED on the other codes.
31103 (VW specific code)- aka P20EE (Generic OBD code)
Well, this is interesting one - with updated engine software.
I'm not sure if this the actual issue, rather just an...
I recently (2 weeks ago) had my "mapped" 150 CXHA engine on 3771 version to the latest 6166 after many threads and info from MMI, I was getting P20EE all the time.
The van now drives better, regens better and for the first time ever in 2 years hit 50mpg on a run yesterday.
I can honestly say I...
...it sorted at which point the best solution maybe as simple as an adblue delete. Some say the SCR system is far too sensitive and fickle.
You need to start with the codes first and go from there. P20EE is relatively generic but others like P204F will indicate SCR issues which may not be a major
...the next few weeks) and a buzzing at around 2k revs which appears to be N75 valve (£45 changed yesterday so not sure that the full fix).
I get P20EE flag up either once every few hundred miles or never for 6 months, I'm now taking the "map" off it and putting the standard VW software...
...brilliant two weeks in Switzerland etc.
However if I did it again I'd buy older higher mileage higher spec. 2018 30k miles and it's had the p20ee error luckily software update fixed it, noisy engine, dodgy clutch, have to baby it over regens. Compare with my 125k diesel car, in 8 yrs...
...would drive it, if you need a new sensor then it would suggest that the current one is triggering faults that a working one wouldn’t. If it’s a P20EE fault which relates to the nox sensor plenty of us have reset it and continued to use the van with no issues. I’d still get it in the workshop...
...no issue.
On the very next trip, I was about 30 miles up the road (motorway) when the EML came on and so I stopped to do a check. Output:
P20EE [0x20EE]
Nitrogen oxide (NOx) sensor, catalyst, bank 1 - efficiency below threshold
Status: Confirmed

...attempts at a repair. also got the P204F which is relevant and 33262 which again VW don't recognise
they wont recognise the 31103 code and the P20EE is a generic capture-all SCR error. If you have erased error codes they wont be stored (I made that mistake early on) and they need the codes...
...is mechanic, did the cam belt etc on my T5.1, so I may get him to check it over before it goes back to the dealers.
The EML fault code is the P20EE and 31103, both shown through Carista. The EML came on one Sunday so called the dealers first thing on the Monday to be told that as I had...
...set however a local independent suggested they don't bother and have not had issues
Good luck with the EML ..... let me know if you have P20EE and P204F ....... see my other posts ..... even more so if they find a solution
hope this helps but dont stress too much and if you have only just...
I have the same faults and only come on after a long run. P20EE is generic and I have P204F which links with your other codes. All SCR related. Mine has been in 4 times for a fix so far without success. Going in again tomorrow and costing me £500 for them to look at it even though under warranty...
