Hi all. I'm taking tentative steps into powering my internal lights etc with a battery pack. I'd like to install a solarpanel on my pop-top.
What kind of fixings should I used to attch the panel to the Reimo pop-top (fibreglass) roof?
The panel has 6 fixing points. Should I bond it down too...
Hi all,I have x2 100w 18v 5amp solarpanels on the pop top connected to control unit to keep battery topped up, I have added 240v plug via consumer unit for a smart charger for when we’re on hook up,but the smart charger is drawing power from the battery, how could I stop this?.Any advice would...
...I have an CTEK D250SA which as I understand it, has a MTTP regulator built in to its solar input.
If I want to install a 160W solarpanel, do I need a separate solar controller?
And if not, is there some way of monitoring the solarpanel to check the output, temperature etc of the panel...
What's your battery size, type?
Do you know what the current level of charge is?
What's your solarpanel type, size?
If your battery isn't being charged and that's all you're seeing from solar, your panel might be faulty. Very common with semi flexible panels.
That's the 3 black grounds. So the other 2 - one will go your negative leisure battery terminal (directly or indirectly via a shunt), the other is the negative for the solarpanel.

How've You Installed Your SolarPanel?
After 2failed flexi panels, I went for rigid. My next van will have rigid panels from the get go.

I wonder if anyone can help. We are confused as to how to attach crocodile clips to leisure battery. It has plastic covers that have wire attached to that goes to control panel on it so if you take them off you lose connection to control panel. Picture attached. Thank you.
Thanks. I’ve put a multimeter across the positive and negative from the solarpanel. Doesn’t look like it’s picking up any thing measuring DC voltage. After searching through the Forum it looks like the panels had it. I assume I could attach a portable panel through the Victron temporarily as we...
Guys my second flexi panel has gone fut ,I'm wondering about going bigger .say 250W at the mo my old panel 150W is running through a victron 75/15 smart solar charge controller. I have a fairly big off grid system 230AH roamer 12 12 30 orion B2B Bmv 712 monitoring it all bla de bla. If I go...
Victron MPPTs say they require the battery to be connected before solar and the solar to be disconnected before battery. If you isolate your battery then having a solar isolator enables you to do this. You also may wish to limit the charge current going into your battery whilst driving if you...

The mounting surface for the solarpanel should be smooth and even. If the surface isuneven, it is recommended to prepare it prior to the installation by filling in the gaps. Forexample, spaces between ridges on a vehicle roof can be filled in as the photos belowshow – this will make...
...junction box should fit in that 3cm gap. The rigid ones are tempting but for sure they wont have anything to spare - EcoFlow 100W Rigid SolarPanel (2 pieces) are exactly 3cm :/
Just looking for someone who actually put flex panels on alu profiles, without bonding to the roof.
Worst case a...
