    150ah vs 200ah lithium?

I'm switching out a knackered 85Ah lead battery for lithium. My only requirement really is to run a nespresso coffee machine(!), which draws 1360 Watts, so I'm anticipating a 1500w inverter. I've already got a Renogy 30A DC-DC charger to install. Planning on adding 150-200w solar soon, via the...

Not the best advise, yes the Ctek will run a lithium, the only downside is they cannot wake one up if it’s flat. What is your usage, how long off grid etc Drop us a pm or call if you want to talk through some options

My full electrics upgrade project with a long inverter cable run

Posting this thread to document my upgrade from AGM to Lithium, which includes the install of a whole lot of extras and a long cable run to a 2Kw inverter. It's been an equally frustrating and enjoyable process to get to where I am, I've learnt a lot and have a much better understanding of...

EHU + Inverter Through Same Sockets

I have brought the Renogy 1000w inverter, with built in change over switch. I’m hoping to mount the inverter under drivers seat, and use this to power up the 240v socket/s when not on EHU. Inverter power use will be 6 minutes at 400-500w ( hot choc velvetiser ) Two cups worth! Our 160ah...

Inverter to charge Anker C800 power station?

I’m after some advice on how best to charge our river 2 pro when away (off grid) during the colder dark months, (in summer we use the portable solar panel) We have a Roamer 160 lithium leisure battery and a Renogy 1000w inverter under the passenger seat base, the single outlet socket in 3...

    Coffee - Nespresso Machine

Thanks! Oh cool, so the 100ah lithium is happy delivering the current for the ~1500w surge for the minute or so of making coffee. If you don’t mind , which lithium do you have? I used a watt meter on my nespresso this morning and the peak is 1360w. Which is about 115 dc amps, plus headroom for...

What Have You Done To Your Van Today?

Should I ditch the Sargent? Please help

Surely you'll be needing a toaster? An induction hob a coffee machine? A kettle? You'll be able to with a 2000 watt inverter and 200Ah lithium battery, the 240 volt world would be your, in your case, 'salmon'!

What Coffee Machine do you have in your van?

Those with inverters. What Ah leisure do you have. I have the 100ah lithium. If I was to make her day and get her Nespresso working in the van off grid would it be up to the job for a couple of cups in a morning?

    Coffee - Nespresso Machine

@meza it’s a 1500W PSW inverter from NDS. Peak load from the coffee machine exceeds 1500W but is transient and within spec. It runs off a 100Ah lithium battery; a lead acid of this size is insufficient.

    150ah vs 200ah lithium?

not sure id choose either of those. . . to have in the same van im sleeping in.? id be more interested in the safety of the battery, what cells are they using what bms are they using? expected cycle life? low temp charge protection? APP for the BMS,? ........ you get what you pay for with...

    New regulations for LiFePo4 batteries.

It's a curious one because my first thought was it's the regs catching up with older lithium chemistry and being about fire enclosures - but it seems mostly about venting and I wasn't aware there was much in Lithium chemistry Vs the very definite venting in Lead Acid chemistry. As far as I'm...

    Inverter - electrics questions..

Yes, but that is a massive upgrade. You need to check all your cabling is up to spec.... I'd assume not.... That Victron has a 70A charger built in. And you will need 200Ah of lithium to run that inverter. So as above @roadtripper , let's look at what you have now and go from there. And as...

Lithium LifePo4 12v Batteries - Time For An Upgrade?

General consensus is that unless you're prepared to invest mucho money & space, then using 12V to provide meaningful power is a non-starter. To do anything worthwhile & not just a gimmicky gadget, you'll need some serious Lithium battery capacity, Inverter, cabling, Solar, B2B & all the other...

Lithium LifePo4 12v Batteries - Time For An Upgrade?

OK, so I've read through the last 51 pages (maybe skimmed a little bit). My original leisure battery, a Platinum AGM Plus Leisure Battery 12V 100Ah AGMLB6110L is now approaching 5 years old and appears to be showing its age, and so looking to upgrade. The current battery is built into a cabinet...

Off-Grid set up, not that great!

You are asking too much of a standard leisure battery due to your inverter load. You need to move to a Lithium battery, or use gas. Pete
