Hello all, I need some advice from those who have already done this, experience counts above all else where wheels and tyres are concerned, I’ve taken the plunge and purchased some 17” wheels. Genuine VW items. 8X15 They’re originally for an Amorak and going on a T32. I’m after some...

    My T6 "Swamper" Build

I'm running 245/65/17 and tbh haven't seen much difference. It seems to ride smoother than the wheels that came with the van on 275/40/20

I think - for the time being I am not going to go with these wheels, I think I am sticking with std GP steels (delivery mileage) and some 235/65 17 Falken Wildthingy's

    swamper over sized wheel carrier

I’ve got the same size wheels/tyres as you. Did you have to cut or alter the plastic tray to fit the spare under the van or was it just the carrier that needed altering? Thanks

    Which tyres for 7.5J 18’s

Went all the way from 16” to 20”. Found the 235/55/18 being the best compromise with standard suspensions. And 255/45/18 best compromise with Koni shocks. I went from 16 to 18 245/55 and it was not pleasant in terms of comfort. 235/55 feels more similar to 16” 215/65.

All terrain tyres - recommendations and pictures

You will be fine, but might be getting that fag paper from Paul to measure ;) 235/65/17 on ET35 rims..... I have more of an issue with the wheel arch than the tyre, but there is only about 15mm between the tyre and the door.

    All-Season Tyre recommendations

I'm the process of considering a new set of tyres and possibly wheels for my T6 4motion. Previously on my T5 i had bfg ko2 in 245/65/17 on the Devonports with 20mm spacers. Looked great, the gearing was probably a little too far out for my liking and road performance wasn't great. I'm ideally...

General Grabber AT3's vs the BFG KO range

...top however I am searching. I am thinking of the GG AT3 as a more suitable long journey tyre and a bit of rough roads. so I found these 245/65/17 however most of the people I have seen on these pages and other pages I am on are installing 235/65. Whilst I appreciate the width...

Sorry to re-open an old thread, I'm trying to extract the information I need but might be easier to ask... Are 245/65/17 tyres on standard T30 suspension a problem with rubbing? I have noticed allot of people who lower have a rubbing issue but not sure about std suspension height. W Only...

Spare wheel carrier: Maximum spare wheel size?

I have BFG 225/65r17 and it fits with standard VW carrier. They measure 28.5" in diameter, and that's the max unless you stay cutting plastic The other max is 7" wide rims. 7.5/8" are too wide I rotate all 5 every ~10,000km

General Grabber AT3's vs the BFG KO range

Honestly if I was wanting a more all round, less aggressive tyre than the KO2, it'd be the falken wildpeak at3wa, hands down. As for tyre size, 235/65R17 is 6% bigger than std 235/55R17, and 245/65R17 is 8% bigger. You'd fit both on std height suspension, and 235 on lowered down to 50mm or so.
