Just a thought, but if they made a cluster with a mic input then they could solve this issue with the phone calls. You'd pair your phone with the cluster and then the cluster could present itself as a phone to the head unit and the cluster could ignore the control signals coming from the head...

Good morning. Learning about my T6.1 I hit SOS last night in the dark, fumbling for interior lights. Should that switch panel be back-lit? And the SOS button on the contacts on the stereo, can I get rid of that? Tia.

I've gave up on android auto now. Usb ports are temperamental at best, no Spotify sound and my phone gets too hot using AA dongle while on charge. Phone mount to the right of the steering wheel :thumbsup:

That is a good call - my phone already gets hot under normal operation - any recommendation for an after market cooling charging pad?

Just be careful of the phone getting hot, both wireless carplay or AA gets the phone hot as does wireless charging, both at the same time means more heat. There's a reason most new cars have cooled wireless charging pads now.

Mine arrived today. Apprehensive about installing it now, my main worry is the fact the existing MFD remains active and if your phone is paired to the head unit it can make calls? I pair my phone to the headunit mostly for playing podcasts.
