Hello,

Trying to sort cross climate 2 tyres across all wheels as current tyres perishing.

Quote from black circles fitted is nearly £1k, is that about right, includes 4 wheel alignment but seems like some serious cheddar!!? 219£ per tyre

Am I being a mingebag? Any other cheaper option for these tyres? Any blue light discount anyone aware of etc?

BC aren't always the cheapest, but are generally at the less expensive end of the scale.

What size and load rating are you after?

Need to say what sizes. Plus a 4 wheel alignment is over £100

I was just going by what was on the van now- 215/65/16r.

Do I need the alignment? Not hit any major potholes etc

At the last service guy advised to replace tyres before end of year. Not worn out tread but starting to perish in sidewall (previous owner low mileage and van sat on drive for a while I think)

Last Autumn I paid £600 for 4 Michelin Cross Climate 2's in 235/55/18 fitted and balanced.

How old are the current tyres? Perishing isn’t always the death knell it once was.
Decent tyres will still behave well until 7 years old. As long as no cords are showing - that’s all the MOT looks for.
There will be a manufacturing date on the sidewall - four numbers with the first two being the month and second two the year.

Certainly no cord showing, but MOT next month and a Belgium trip, will replace. So I just ring local independents and quite the current tyres yes, as that dictates what is needed I presume?

Try Halford, they are competitive these days. We bought a set Michelin CrossClimate 215/65R16XL for daughters 2021 Dacia Duster 4x4.

Try CamSkill, I've used them for years and are generally the cheapest around, personally I wouldn't go for the CC2's again though.

Was only thinking better all round performance, safer etc. wasn’t impressed with stock tyre in a camping field. I know tyres alone won’t allow off roading with a camper but hoped for better performance so as not to get stuck etc
