    Flexi solar panel install help

Put a blanket over the panels as they will be generating power in the daylight. Keep all the wires insulated until you put each connector on as well to prevent a short

I appreciate your time responding. I agree with you on the overthinking of the insulation.

Flooring- how do I not mess this up again??

All trial and error...we over insulated our floor at 1st, put the Dodo sound deadening and the thermo insulation down..luckily we realised when about to put the ply down ready for the floor we ripped it out, put batons between the ridges and all good..wishing you the best of luck with it, we...

    ceramic fibre insulation

Hi @Greybeard Thanks for your reply. I was looking at the Dial insulation when I noticed the ceramic roll, my thinking was that if its for high temperature it would work well for insulation. No other reason behind it just exploring all options. Happy to use the Dial if others have used it and...

    Hello Fresh insulation

It's very useful stuff to augment the insulation in cool boxes as well. Not had Hello Fresh for a while but I keep a few of the insulation packs for this.

    T6 pop top insulation

Hi Does anyone use an internal pop top cover/insulator on a T6, if so how good are they at keeping the heat in when it’s cold weather. Being a newbie I’m not too sure whether it’s worth spending about £300 for one, any suggestions/advice would be fab. Cheers GB

    Tailgate Condensation Camper Conversion

Carpet the exposed metalwork, cut pieces of 'camping mat' type stuff and fit them each night to insulate the windows and carry a window vac for any condensation on other windows . This is what we do and it works really well

Keep OEM rubber load floor or remove and ply line/insulate/sound deaden/carpet floor??

...completely silencing the van and am comfortable with sound deadening around the wheel arches but not much elsewhere and relying on the insulation and carpet to add a bit more silencing properties (compared to no insulation or sounded deadening currently!). I have just been advised that the...

    ceramic fibre insulation

...would be more at home lining chimney flues etc? The general consensus is to use the normal, less dense and much lighter version; Diall Insulation roll, (L)6m (W)0.37m (T)100mm | DIY at B&Q Other suppliers also stock 50mm thick which is useful in cavities which are less deep. I also was...

    Thermo Fleece Insulation. 100mm or 2x 50mm

...all! This weekend it's back to the camper conversion and one question I had which may hopefully help others is the 50mm and 100mm thermo insulation rolls. The 50mm Dodo is available in plentiful supply but the 100mm has been out of stock for ages (other brands available). My question is...

Keep OEM rubber load floor or remove and ply line/insulate/sound deaden/carpet floor??

...dealt with before floor went down. I didn't insulate under the floor. 12mm ply floor and vinyl I think is enough. I spent loads of money on insulation for the rest of the van, and now we keep the windows open because it's too warm! Probably wouldn't go as mad with insulation if I converted...

    Rear floor insulation

...battons. Cover in the gaps/ridges with dodo hex mat and then 100% cover with a layer of super liner. By my calculations I work out 5mm insulation, 12mm floor and 2mm Altro gives me a 17mm increase in height. I would have liked to add dodo hex above the ridges but this would take me to 19mm...

    What length electric hook-up cable?

For future reference, cable size is given in mm2 I.e. square millimetres, not diameter. At 2.7mm dia, your cable is (1.35x1.35)x3.142=5.726mm2 including insulation The core diameter of a 2.5mm2 cable would be 2x square root of 2.5/3.142=1.78mm

    T6 camper flooring

We have used adhesive 20mm closed cell foam insulation with a foil face, It was recommended to us by our local garage. We have insulated it in May 2024 and now, when it is hot, I can feel it keeps our van cool, which is ideal. It is also a vapour barrier. So highly recommend.

Ply Floor - Glue Or Screw

If insulation is being used on metal flooring then surely 6mm batons in between ridges should be used otherwise insulation on top of 9mm batons would be too high if you have sliding seat rails. I'm still researching the process as I am looking to lay 12mm ply with Altro on top. The way I see...
