There are three possibilities for the lost oil path assuming it is not an external leak or worn valve seals. External oil leak - very easy to eliminate by visual check. Worn valve seals - highly unlikely unless a very high milage / old van and even then the quantity lost would be less than you...

Hmm that's interesting as I've sat in my drive a time or two waiting for a regen to finish, after five minutes or so it goes back to 850rpm idle and the fans shut down and I've concluded that its done ...but maybe not then !!!!
