I thought REVO had pulled their 102 remap @Andyf, due to the torque and subsequent gearbox issues? I've more or less knocked that idea on the head for mine becasue of that. Which has also cancelled the big chunky tyres and a lift kit in case they are too much for the engine too! Thought the 102...

That's not factually correct. They stopped offering remaps on the 102 due to weak turbos. If you want to speculate, I would say that they could offer a safe map but that it probably wouldn't offer value for money. I have the 150 TSI Revo remap and it's great fun. Can't offer comparison, of course.

I have had problems with my 5sp gearbox T6 I have had problems with 5 Spd t6 after re map. Going to go back to as it was. What exactly was your problem ?

I also don't think it's factually correct that the 102 has a weak turbo, almost positve it's the same as the 150. Besides, if there so weak how come pendle can correctly and safely tune to 160 plus?

Friend had a Euro5 102 remapped and was definitely advised 5 speed gearbox was the weak point. I think 160bhp was the max figure advised to him. 6 speed they would take to 170+. On the 150 bhp 6 speed I know Revo and Pendle quote about 190 to 196bhp. I keep looking but haven't taken the brave...

So this happened on the way home from VW action today :( T6, 2019 at about 50k miles, 5 speed manual 102 ( remapped to 162) ( 321nm ) Driving lovely, down shifted to 3rd as approaching traffic and BANG, the worst sound I've ever heard, followed by knocking and grind to a rolling stop...

I don’t think it’s scaremongering more a case of learning from mistakes. More power is going to have much the same risk regardless of the supplier.
