As @Drive Wayne says. I have exactly the same DC-DC under my passengerseat too and 3 cables to attach the Ablemail. It took longer to change the settings on the Ablemail than it did to fit it!
Hi, new member, first post... so I installed an underseat amp the other day and used the large red cableunder the passenger bench seat to power it. In my infinite newbie wisdom I cut the large red cable just below the point where two smaller red cables were attached to it and securely taped...
Yes I thought about that, but then you'll still need a cable from a 12v socket to the battery - unless you reckon on charging this at home beforehand and then it lasting for the entirety of your trip. I did this in my previous van (Caddy) and it worked OK, but am thinking now I'd like to install...
Thanks chaps, I couldn't find a spade to fit the top 12V fuse socket so I'm taking the more recommended route and running a wire to the leisure fuses under the passengerseat. Waiting for piggy back to arrive as none of the free fuse sockets underpassengerseat are wired to anything, so I need...
Ok thanks for info
Yes, would probably get cables made up, as don’t need them longer than they need to be.
It was just that the guy installing all the electrics recommended having inverter underpassengerseat with battery, then having all the chargers across to drivers seat base? , then I...
My build is progressing slowly - kombi as daily and two kids so edging towards the BIG STUFF. I’ve got 2 amps under the the single passengerseat and just about finished a battery/b2b charger build completed under the driver’s seat. I have a primary midi-fuse box alongside the battery but not...
A couple of reasons, 1) I have used the under floor channels to pass cables to between the passenger and drivers seat (plan to add a second battery at some point) and 2) I also have replaced the original seats with Audi Q8 S-Line ones which are electric and have heating, so come with the same...
The sensor is fixed to the bottom of the sump.
The cable on my van traced back up into the cab under the front passenger footwell. I had to remove seat and lift mat to gain access for repair.
Hi all
Got a kit from pf jones, I've ran all the cables including the ones to the bcm but struggling with the ones for underpassengerseat, it's says the grey white cable for rear fogs in the light blue connector but mine is grey white in a green connector with rear fogs on its...
" Renogy 1000w inverter under drivers seat, and connect to the 160ah lithium which will be underpassengerseat, " - this is how i have mine setup.
you need to use super beefy cable, as above use the cable guide.
1000w full load will easily pull 100A/120A . . . so cable for that and fuse...
i used 16mm / 20mm copex (split or not) tubing, and run the 16/25mm2 cable in that.
along the groves in the bodywork,
+++++++++++++++
pics from @Deaky van
but you can see there are two low section where the seat base bolt are. .
i pushed the tube allong there,
green being the feed in...
My Sargent EC155 isn't charging the Fogstar Lithium battery. I've checked the 15amp charger fuse on the Sargent and all the switches are up on the breaker. Read another post on here that says probably easier to install a direct charge solution as, the charger function of the Sargent is...
Got to love an autocorrect! I’ve got it wrong far too many times. The thread unfortunately has not gone where I was hoping!
Anyhow, back to the cables. Don’t go playing with the various coloured connectors. As said they are original and can cause issues if disconnected and power applied.
I...
Hi, posted a question in the Electrics thread but will try here as I have a T6.1 Birchover. My electrics are currently completely standard but I'm planning to swap out my SCR for a Victron Orion XS DC to DC this week, ready to go Lithium in the near future (will de-rate the amps to 20A or so for...
Yes that may explain the difference but only if the cable to the rear is a little undersized and causing voltage drop. My LB and shunt are under the passengerseat and MPPT in the rear wardrobe but the readings are exactly the same. I’ve used 16mm2 cable to the rear with a short section of 4mm2...
Under my passengerseat I have what looks to be a 10mmsq cable which I’m lead to believe can be used for a DC-DC charger, negative coming from chassis.
I was originally thinking of a Victron 12/12/30 unit which would be mounted in a cupboard I intend to make and located under the non sliding...
Looks like you’re missing the power cable. This feeds from 4 fuses in the accessory permanent supply under the passengerseat to the controller. I’ll see if I can dig up a photo for you
