‘SAFELOCK - CHECK OWNER'S MANUAL’ message on MFD

Well it's still a deadlock, but as it has the options for handle connections and isn't generally as well shielded it's not as defended but it will work fine to prevent most smash and grabs.

The advantage of aftermarket units is that the bad guys have an incentive to research how to defeat the factory options as they are in every van, but there are lots of aftermarket units so that's less likely. Unfortunately this might not prevent the oiks having a good at the door skins anyway with a battery cutting tool to see if they can get in.
It did change my life when I got my first cordless fridge grinder!
Unfortunately it changed the bad guys lives too

Pah! Not got my glasses with me and auto correct did it's thing.

Sounds like a cool grinder though

Sorry to keep hacking away at this subject....
one press for deadlock
two for 'normal' lock.

I have to press it a second time to fold the mirrors and raise the windows. Will that not deactivate the deadlock?

Or does the long press I'm doing for comfort mode not count as a second press (because it's a long press)?

Many thanks to anyone who knows, and apologies if it's in this thread and I've missed it!

One year on, and I'm still learning the quirks of this van

You can just hold the button for comfort close and that won’t affect your deadlocks. Long push on unlocking also opens the windows
