150PS Remap done - what are your opinions?

Not surprised to see Martin at Pendle being his usual self.
He took quite a bit of stick over on the T5 forum then left.
He does know he’s stuff and has probably remapped your van within safety limitations but there are other remapped out there. I’d leave your van as it is as the graph looks fine to me.

Martin at Pendle is very good at what he does, but is a firm believer in saying it as it is with no regard for a customers feelings. That said he has always been my go to for remaps and turbo problems. He will only do what is best for your vehicle as it is presented to him.

Carista has arrived . It says soot content is 24.60g. Is that high? Would that have much effect on performance ?

The soot level travels between 5-24 grams, or 8-30 grams depending on engine software. The min value you get just after DPF regeneration. The max when DPF regen is triggered.

Those max soot value don't affect engine performance - to better analyze someone :geek: certainly should measure pressure loss over the DPF...

Does everything look as it should?

Hmmm... for some reason remappers do not want to identify themselves by changing software identifiers to their unique ones- it seems to be the same here - no change.

However, the base software version "3802" is the factory installed one in 2017 for this engine. Since then all T6 engine softwares have been updated, and there is an update also for this engine. The update cured quite a few nuisances.

I wasn’t impressed with my revo map either. Couldn’t really tell much difference .

For Carista dongle there is also another Android app - VAG DPF Free - for monitoring just DPF soot level and regeneration status (on/off/duration). This app launches much faster than Carista as it does only this one thing.
More here:

Thanks for that info. How do I go about updating the software ? Is it a Vw garage thing? Will it cost me?

On a 150? Mine was so different!
This is what I’d heard, I don’t know what I was expecting but I can honestly say there is hardly any difference , but I heard people say there’s were sluggish where as mines always pulled really well, I just wonder if it already had a remap by the previous owner?

My van is late 2017 and has not had any software updates. Earlier this year I specifically asked VW if an update was available and they told me they could not advise as it had to be inspected by a dealer. I booked it in and was told no updates were necessary as the van is not throwing up any error codes. They also said that only a very small number of vans in early 2017 required an update.

The software update will wipe the remap. I'm a bit surpised the remap was done over old software - without checking possible updates?
Anyways, if you haven't had issues this far why update...

As @DXX pointed out earlier your engine made 153.9 hp before the remap so there can’t be much wrong with it surely??

Hmm possibly had one before! Mine was much stronger low down and then actually revved, useful power up to say 4k now where as before it was all noise after 2.5k
