18” Tyre recommendations for 8J wheels

Hello, I am real new to the forum and to vans, collecting a T6 Startline panel van this week and first job I want do is change standard steels to alloys.
I have looked at some 18x8x42 black alloys MSW (by Oz) wheels and as a tyre package they recommend 255x45x18, just wanted to know people's experiences/ opinions with these dimensions for wheels and tyres, as in any rubbing issues, TIA.

Appreciate your feedback thanks, all going well hopefully will be fitted next week and definitely will post some photos
And then the chaos changing bits will start, not full camper planned, just insulation and carpeted, R &R bed or U bench system and leisure battery with hookup and little cosmetic changes.

Welcome - just check the wheels and tyres are load rated appropriately for your vehicle.
Yeah will do all tyre options show (Y103) XL, but need to check wheels, hoping as the website asks for vehicle make snd model, I would like to think they take that into account in their search function, but definitely will double check when place order.

Another question, would the torque of the bolts/ studs of 133ft/lbs - 180nm be correct for aftemarket alloys as against standard steels? If the values I have mentioned are correct.

Similar to others I'm currently running ring 255/45/18 on Momo revenge 18's. Spring suspension 40mm lower than factory. Van is a LWB T6.1 t30 manual, converted to a camper but also weekend daily drive.

Speedo reads bang on at the moment.

I'm thinking of replacing tyres with 255/50 or 255/55 or even 255/60. Any thoughts or advice on makes of tyres or the sizing?

Go just a tiny bit lower?
18s with 255 45 18 Dunlop Sports Response Blue, H&R coilovers plus H&R thicker ARBs on an SWB van.

Been using Maxxis Premitra HP5 245/50r18 104 for years. Very slightly oversized but a little extra side wall only adds to comfort.

For the winter it's Bridgestone Blizzaks 235/55r18 104. So both tyres load rated for a T32.

Changing the suspension is really the only way of improving the ride quality over the factory springs and shock absorbers not fitting taller walled tyres, coilovers will allow that comfier ride and effectively allow the wheels up a bit more into the arches to fill them.
My ride height is sadly limited by the underslung water tank access cap which is 70mm above the road surface so not full gangsta here :geek:...

Draining the tank and the pump trying to escape.

Why so tall, are you Off Road living or using? If you need such large diameter and tall tyres surely raising the suspension is the most sensible solution!
I was just looking to get a slightly softer ride and maybe fill the arches a little better for aesthetics. I've almost settled on 255/55 after chatting to conversion company today. All road and pot hole use. :)

Suspension needs sorting for a more comfortable ride you're not going to manage that even with balloon tyres. :geek:

Again, 18" wheels 255 45 tyres and H&R coilovers with the underslung water tank being the limiting factor.
Just remembered 20mm spacers on the back and 8.5" width all round.
