Afternoon chaps/esses.

Quick question for the massive. I'm about to start Part 2 of my leisure electrics. I want to install my 240v charger under the seat with my dc to dc charger. Can I connect the 240v charger to the output of the dc/dc charger that goes to the battery. Would save another cable run. My brain says it should be ok but just wanted a confirmation.

Cheers

yes its fine, as long as the cable is sized correctly and everything is fused appropriately then no issues
its no different than joining them at the battery posts

Should be fine.

Assuming the dc-dc to battery cable is fused ok

Post a pic of the dc-dc and battery so we can check suitability.

Logically both would go to the same battery terminal but a few things to consider:

The cables need to be sized for max current of both chargers for safety.

I would avoid joining cables on charger terminals, they're not normally designed for that, use a local bus bar.

Also consider if you need to remove one because it has failed, again a local bus bar will let you do that.

Decided to use some Anderson connectors just for the 240v charger. I have some removable panels on the rear of the seats so can run a cable off the battery directly to that point. Probably only use it infrequently anyway as the van is a daily driver so alternator will keep it topped up I should imagine. I am learning that plans need to be fluid with this stuff
