It will be covered by 'Construction and Use' regulations.....a friend of mine who is an accident investigator for police says incorrect or defective tyres are one of the first things they look in great detail at
A class 4 MOT is basically a car or light van (under 3 tonnes) MOT.As for mot
What does class 4 mean
Can I not take my van to local mot tester?
A 103 rated tyre is rated sufficiently to be fitted to a vehicle that could weigh, if loaded to it's maximum gross weight, 3200KG, i.e. a T32.Also what’s the actual difference between 102 & 103 ?
Being a builder myself, trust me there’s plenty of people do exactly that, most of them on check a tradeI'm sure they'll be fine, just like that undersized RSJ holding the roof up over the kids bedroom, it came in at half the price of the one the structural engineer specced and that mate who's a shit hot plasterer says it's fine and as a bonus he won't even need to lowering the ceiling now.
Check a trade…..as a consumer, I ignore them! A shower of money-grabbing knobs who prey on new tradesman and the proverbial “grey-haired little old ladies”! If ever a “trade body” did a disservice….!Being a builder myself, trust me there’s plenty of people do exactly that, most of them on check a trade

I’ll get off my soapbox now!!!
As your van is T30 Rob you don’t need the 103 rating, only 101, but that still limits what is available in 255/35 20. There are a couple of budget options, see here and here, but nothing from the mid range or premium brands.Just curious to see what others are running, I've been using the 255/35/20 103 royal performance on a 4motion on Air.
I'd say similar to be fair, used the acceleras for the last couple of years, for the price I don't think you can quibble - It's not exactly a vehicle well known for amazing handling etc.I've been using the Accelera ones for a few years and had good results. As @Dav-Tec says, they do wear out quite quickly, but at their price point i dont find it an issue! Id rather wear out a £50 tyre than a £200 one! Haha
As for grip, I've never had an issue. In the wet and dry they are very good. Even done a lap of the nurburgring on them and had no issues.
Although one thing that will make me look to change is the road noise. I'm not sure if it's the tyre or the fact the vans low, but it can get very loud on certain surfaces.
I've got Accelera tyres and whilst they get mixed reviews on here, I like them. You won’t Rob, they aren’t load rated. They are 97 like most in that size.Where are you guys getting your Accelera tyres from, I can't seem to find any that are load rated to 101/102
Cheers Chris!! That answered that then sunny or lanvigator it is then. You won’t Rob, they aren’t load rated. They are 97 like most in that size.
