ACC & City Braking - How Its Done -

ACC & City Braking - How Its Done - what is it?
Thanks @Dellmassive
I am looking into this on a bigger Scale, i like to retrofit ACC into T5.2 :)

What i can contribute here is Information about ABS/ESP, since theese are crucial for ACC.

Looking into ETKA, there are two different ABS Units for T6.

- SW: 7E0 907 379 Q HW: 7E0 907 379 N with ACC Support
- SW: 7E0 907 379 P HW: 7E0 907 379 M without ACC Support (City Breaking possible)

This was validated by 55 VCDS Scans i gathered over the last Months.
BUT just yesterday i stumbled about a T6 with "P" Ending and ACC_LOW fittet.
Strange, so this Theorie is now not Valid :(

Coding ABS is done in Byte 17.
Byte 17 Config ACC
00 No ACC no City Break
F1 Front Assist inkl. City ANB ohne ACC
F5 Front Assist inkl. City ANB für ACC low/high with SG
F7 Front Assist inkl. City ANB für ACC low/high with DSG

Great work @dnoermann , lets see if others can confirm that the ABS unit/module is different in vans with/without factory ACC, & city braking.

here my scan (i have factory ACC + DSG):

My impression is that ACC has been available only with T6 EU6 engines. I'm afraid that part of the brains of the ACC is in the ECU, which is a different one on EU6 engines. Just a thought and happy to stand corrected on this.

You are compleetely right.
ACC is only available with EU6 Engine even in T6.
The ones with EU5 Engine could not have ACC added as feature while buying.

What i Think: The EDC17 ECU from T5 EU5+ Engines does not understand the new Buttons for ACC on the MFL and theirfore can not "Start" ACC.

That is the biggest issue that have to be overcome when retrofitting ACC to T5.2.
I got one info from UK Polo Forum, that it could be possible to port this function to EDC17.

Don’t forget initially there were two different variations of ACC available (different top speed ratings) so this may affect module part number or possibly SW revision ?

I’m not sure if this one is the radar of T6 but anyways some fascinating information – hopefully to others too.

Unfortunately I have never seen the radar module of the high speed variant. So I was a kind of expecting to see e.g. a similar to the one below as the spec is a bit more ambitious. Anyways, I don't know if this one ever made its way into the serial production.
Long range radar (spec sheet from year 2014) ---> https://cds.bosch.us/themes/bosch_cross/amc_pdfs/LRR4_292000P0ZH_EN_low.pdf

The high Sensor is the same as the Low Sensor.

This is from a T6 ACC High (210 km/h) PR 6K4

As you see, everything is the same.

Some update here.
As you probably have seen, starting with 2019 some people claimed that they can retrofit ACC to T6.
As of today i found my own way to solve the CP and SWAP Problems and got an ACC Sensor running in my T5 MJ 2013 which was never supposed to do so.
Still other work to do, to get ACC fully running, and still nothing to be in detail disclosed publicly, for now ....

how did you remove CP ?
by your own ..but still with ODIS , right ?
I also thinking to add ACC
My ABS pump is poor, but supporting one can be easy buy
According to ETKA , only 7E0907379Q but I see also index P 7E0907379P is with ACC ?
Q is 3 times more expensive that P
Any progress guys ?

Short Update:
Fittet T6 ACC Radar on my T5.2

IMG_2153.JPG

Nothing works icon_eek.gif

But:
- CP and SWAP for Radar are done
- Radar fittet
- Cluster changed
- ABS changed
- Airbag Controller changed
- Stalk changed
- Steering Wheel and MFSW with ACC Buttons changed
- BCM Changed

==> Only 1 Error in ACC and 1 Error in ABS when ACC is enabled
==> 0 Error with FrontAssist without ACC

FrontAssist is probably working, because with FrontAssist alone the ECU is not involved.

But with ACC enabled there is a CAN Message from ECU missing, or the message is to slow.
Need more digging.

I found my own way by try and error debugging a lot .....
- Get a used Cluster from a T6 with ACC and the TransmissionBox you need. DSG or SG must match, that is important !
- Get the Cluster Immo Learned to your car (NOT with OdisE), but VIN in Cluster needs to stay the one from the Car where the Cluster was taken from.
- Get CP done Online with OdisE, get Swap restored online with OdisE, this works because it is restoring Swap for the VIN from the T6 that had ACC. (ECU can stay the same, the whole time)
- Now you can change the VIN in Cluster back to your VIN, CP and Swap will stay.

Took me 1 Year of digging ......

Regarding ABS.
Normly you need Q but i have seen one T6 with P and working ACC from Factory.

All make sens for me . took me add ACC to touran 2005 almost 3 years , but all is working as should
You not say any about MFSW .
Adapt DSG is easy , you need login DSG and go to channel and DSG will run procedure itself .
maybe Radar need proper Configuration download ?

I update my Post to
- Steering Wheel and MFSW with ACC Buttons changed
ACC Sensor is proper configured with the settings from a T6.
My issue is that the T5.2 was never abel to do ACC.
ACC was only introduced with the T6 and there only with the newer EU6 Engines which uses Delphi ECU's.
I have to get a Bosch EDC17CP20 to be abel to talk ACC.

But I think swap ECU will not work since Delphi use different Injectors then Bosch , so whole 'map" in ECU might be different
What I am thinking is a compare current ECU with cars who have ACC ( Touareg, Passat , Golf 7, Sharan )
Some people sucesfully enable ACC in Skoda Yeti, Tiguan 5N and Touran too .

Right, Retrofiting the Delphi ECU is no option.

Correct, thats what i am digging into right now :)

try to get a dump from your ECU (flash + epp) , and I can give you a contact to guy who can look that to check if ACC is enable
