Adblue range on MFD

Purchased a T6 150 (2020) end of March 2021, 14k on the clock and just serviced including AdBlue top-up. AdBlue range said 6,500 miles remaining when I collected it. Van now has 16,200 miles, and AdBlue range is 5,000, which it been sitting on for some time. Is this correct, should it not be down to 4,500 miles, also what increments/decrements does it work to? (In summary I've done 2,200 miles and AdBlue range has gone down only by 1,500 miles).

Also, VW looked at a noise I pointed out to them and they said noisy AdBlue injector, and nothing to worry about. I haven't mentioned this range thing to them (yet), as wonder whether it's normal...?

My driving is economical, long trips only, 40+MPG.

Cheers, Mark.

Yep, it will depend on driving , speed and mpg.

Mine was saying 13000 miles range on adblue when I collected it. After driving 800 miles with average mpg around 44, the adblue range had increased to 13500.

13,000 miles? I've only ever put in what the dash told me to and it only goes up to 6,000 miles.

They increased the adblue tank size in the 6.1 to 22 litres. The 6 was 13 litres I think

Hmmm I think I was ripped off. My van said 2500mile range when I picked it up. It’s now telling me I have 3000miles left (covered 4000) and to add between 5 and 7 litres of Adblue.

The new Tig said 8000 miles. I guess that has a bigger tank too.

So, the 12500 mile range is self explanatory, although it's not gone down sobe new and I've done 2000 miles now.

What's confusing my poor little head is the bottom min and max figures and what they're trying to tell me as the weren't there until recently.

It’s just telling you how much Adblue to use if you want to top up.

Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased my first VW, first van and first ever Diesel so im completly new to the whole adblue situation so since purchasing around a month ago I've been reading countless posts of here trying to learn what i can. Now as far as im aware the adblue on the MFD should display a read out or countdown of miles to go before needing to refilled but mine just shows blank (attached a photo) van is a 67 plate T28 trendline

I left it around month since owning just to make sure it didnt reset itself but nothing.

Popped a quick post of facebook and people suggest it has been mapped out. Some say they have done me a favour leave alone others say yes until you get pulled.

Popped in VW Commercial in Wolverhampton today and they somehow had never even heard of mapping out being a option and i should book in for diagnostics but i only purchased a month ago from evans halshaw and it has a 3 month warranty so i gave them a call. He said pop it into an evans halshaw and they will look into it but also seemed to have no clue what i was onabout.

Problem is, im reading that when trying to reinstate adblue all hell can break loose. I just want it to run the way its ment to frankly and not have to deal with fines potentially in the future.

I rang an evans halshaw and as they are ford dealer as it was a part ex it would need to go to a specialist of which the other branch would have to sign off on and so on and so on and so on. I just know its going to be a pain to get them to sign off on this but the way i see it they sold me a euro 6 van which in its current state is not legal for UK roads

And now frankly im just starting to stress that I've made a bad decision on this damn van.

Just wondered if anyone had any advice on how to handle the situation going forward or anyone knows a specialist in the field not too far from the west midlands of who i could speak too

As i dont really know the real history's of the van and if the first owner had it mapped out i dont know how long it may of been done and too what effect that may of had so is it something i even want to mess with now or just leave alone and forget it.

I apologise for the long write up, itd just this particular subject has been baffling me and seen as main deals havent got a clue its got me pretty worried.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, ill buy you a pint if ever your in my local haha.

Thanks
Tom

Let’s start with the basics. If you open the fuel filler flap, is there an AdBlue filler nozzle below the diesel filler cap ?

Pete

When did it last have an MOT? Maybe a member on here with VCDS could scan the van, this may give you a clue. Don't count on any main dealers VW or otherwise to have a clue about anything out of the ordinary.

Last MOT was on the 15th September, nothing untoward in relation to adblue was noticed

You are unlikely to “get pulled” over the adblue. With the absence of a warning light, it will not be picked up at the MOT. Would be interesting to see what the exhaust measurements were from the MOT as that is the only “gotcha” here.

Personally, I would just leave it unless your conscience wants it fixed. In which case, you have the right to get the seller to fix it or take it back. (Threat of selling a vehicle with defective emissions etc.)

Do you know of a way to find out the last MOT exhaust measurements? I'm not sure if its on the pass cert. Id be intrigued to see these results for sure. Can i also also if you know what the tolerance/limits are for the emissions, but then if they were out surely it would fail MOT
