Adding footwell lighting

Takes about an hour maybe two of your really special.
Kombi kits connect into rear step light so rear step has to be lifted out to run wire under flooring
PV kits wire into roof light so need the A pillar taking of to run the wire up from dash

The footwell lights go into pre marked cutouts that VW leave in the lower dash trim for posh vans like caravelles that have them from factory

I want to do this but do they come with an idiots guide.....I keep thinking of doing it but I'm no auto electrician!? How long does it take?
If you’re ever down this part of the world i’ll Do it for you. It’s so easy.
In fact i’m up at South Shields SC in the new year, if that is anywhere near you. You could nip up and i’d have it done in around hour or so.

Ha ha Pauly.....I'm special alright! I'm more concerned about getting the wires under the cab carpet to underneath the dash. I just need the under dash lights.

@Pauly ...Thanks for the kit it's only been a few months since I received them and today I thought i'd give it a go...I understand the wiring ok but how the hell do you get the panels off under the dash to feed the cable through? I can't seem to pull them off ?

There’s 3-4 clips along the front edge of the black footwell panel where it meets the lower front edge of the dash. Push a pry too in between the gap between the two and prise the footwell panel down towards the floor. Same technique for both sides.

As above really, if you start on the passenger its a bit easier, starting from the outside edge of the panel pop the front edge of the panel down and it will release one clip at a time, once all the front clips are off pull the panel towards rear of van and it will release (theres a small hook type thing holding the rear up that needs to move forwards to release)

@Pauly @Deaky ......I managed to keep my patients and feed the new cables through by taping them to green garden sticks as they were all I had to hand.....really chuffed with how they look, excellent product and in total it took me about an 1 1/2 hours (this did include sticking a chicken in the oven half way through for when the Mrs comes home from work)...

Here's the final product and excuse the mess it hasn't been cleaned in nearly 4 weeks now

You're 4 weeks of mess is equivalent to 1 of my days!!

These really do look Great.
So can I ask, are footstep lights totally different to ambient lighting.
I have a T6 Kombi and think Iam going to add these in but I have a freind witha T6 Kombi who wants theese but the ability to have them on when the lights are on too.
I asume that would be ambient lighting like you could add into the door pockets?
It this possible?
Will the BCM handle ambient lighting if coded and do you need to add pins and wiring in at the BCM to achieve this?

Was after red ideally. Would a non pauly kit be easy to fit to fade with the interior lights?

Is it me or do Vanstyle never seem to carry much stock? Was thinking of buying a few things from them but it says ‘out of stock’ all the time.
