Alpine X802DU 8” Apple CarPlay, Android Auto headunit

I will try my other iPhone although the one I am using is an IPhone 11.

@Sturge This also popped up on the dash display bottom left hand corner and now volume control no longer works.

Er2 error normally only comes up as it needs the nav option ticking in VCDS, but the steering controls. Points to a faulty CanBus box.

CarPlay should just come on when plugging phone into the usb, does the usb charge phone or play a stick?

The usb does charge the phone and plays my iPhone11 via the USB iPod option but no CarPlay option at all.

If the CanBus is faulty is it repairable and if so how do I go about getting this sorted?

cheers @Absolut5

Could the coding be done via an OBD11 for the map function as I do have one of the ATM?

I would try emailing alpine support as it should be under warranty assuming you bought it recently. Mine got replaced to sort out very inaccurate gps and they replaced the canbus adapter as well and since then I don’t get that ER2 message either. However mine doesn’t now let me answer the phone easily if listening to radio when phone rings. Takes about 5 to 10 secs to respond to answering the call. I’m minded to switch brands to something else except I like the big screen. Otherwise a little disappointed in this unit. But I’ve had it for nearly 3 years now so waiting for something better to come out.

@Sturge i have just received a reply to my email to Alpine. They asked for the firmware version of the HU and if I bought it.
Came with the van which will no doubt cost me now.

Removed the whole unit this AM to power it off but still no volume control on the HU or via the MFSW and still no Apple CarPlay.

i hope it’s just the small canbus adaptor.

Thought I would bring you pictures of the Alpine X802DU in the T6 dash along with the new interface for the MFD and parking sensors....

The interface allows more info on the MFD than say the very popular Pioneer AVIC range.

Alpine X803D-U 8” Touch Screen Navigation with TomTom maps, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Hi @Absolut5 can you help with my X802D-U unit not showing phone numbers and names on the MFD when making a call. It says unknown in the MFD even though the number is stored on the phone?

Thanks as always.

Pete

does it display the parking sensors?

It does on the HU as per your images at the start of this thread.
Should it show parking sensors on the MFD?

No, the Er2 went when I selected the nav options using OBD11 like you mentioned.

Looking at your images the contact who you are calling from the HU is displayed on the MFD.
